There is something in everyone's life that is just okay. Specifically some sort of work of art in film or games.
So, do you have something you thing is just okay. By the way, just okay does not mean bad. It means just average. Meh. That kind of thing.

I really thought Inception was just okay. Not bad, and the first time around I thought it was good. But the second time around, I wasn't very in to the movie. It was just okay. Not bad, but all the spectacle had worn off. I had fully figured out the whole dream thing and nothing was as good as it was the second time. Still, just okay, not bad.

Another one was Avatar. People hate this movie. People love this movie. I though it was just okay. But it's been discussed to death.

District 9, too. It was apparently a polarizing movie, breaking the viewers into "loved it to death" and "hated so much". But I fell into the gray zone.

The American. It was a good looking and artsy movie, but not exactly good. Just okay.

I though Halo 3 was just okay, but Halo: Reach was pretty good...
Ocarina of Time was just okay.
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
Transformers, both Bay movies.

I agree with you about Avatar. Every time I say I think "it's ok" though I get people jumping down my throat yelling "It was amazing/revolutionary/awesome! You're just a hater!" I just laugh at these people now, as I really don't hate the movie, I just find it average. I catch similar flak for only finding the Beatles to be a decent band with some catchy tunes.

I too find it painfully mediocre. And I get flamed for voicing that in public.

For videogames, I thought Shadow of the Colossus, Prey, F.E.A.R., Chrono Cross and Super Metroid were all just "okay". Never did see what the big deal about those games was.

For movies, I have to agree with you on Avatar. Just felt sort of "meh" to me. It just seemed so generic... Also, the original version of The Omen, Stargate (both the movie and the television series), Scanners, and The Dead Zone are all movies I thought were just "okay". I can't really think of any more at the moment.

I guess Avatar. There is really nothing new or original in the movie. However I thought Inception was better than many movies, although a few bits of poor acting brought it down.

Avatar was just a big "look how big a world we can make" spectacle. It didnt want or need a thrilling plot.
Black-ops single-player. lots of people give it flak for being short, rushed and dull storywise.
For me, it fit quite nicely in that week of uni where midterms are over so you have no need to study but you are still too busy to go out and party. If a game could be a paper-back novel this was it. something to dip in and out of when the mood hit.
also, chilli con-carne, I can eat it morning noon and night, its not really my favourite food but it is easy to make and filling and just sorta satisfies

I also agree about Avatar and Inception.
Put me on for these as well, in RL I feel like the only one who thinks they were ok and nothing more.

Mass Effect 2. I loved Mass Effect 1, and was really excited to play the sequel, but then they took in elements from a bunch of other games (elements that worked horribly together), then packed it full of "cinematic" action. Also, they totally ramped up Shpeard's asshole level for no other reason than to try to appeal to the kind of crowd that Bioware's fanbase hates. But the story and characters I love are in there, deep down under all the poorly thought out combat and customization mechanics.

And Red Dead Redemption, if I stuck with it for another few hours or so, I maybe would have found a story that I could care about, but if I'm 12 hours into a game whose combat and missions bore me to the extent that RDR did, then I don't care.

Pretty much everything in my life, ever.
It'd be easier to list the exceptions:
Mirror's edge is one of the things in this world I love.
Jim Jeffries and George Carlin's comedy acts.
The elder scrolls: Oblivion (and hopefully Skyrim, Gaaaaah I'm so excited)
Clannad.
Welcome to the NHK.
Death note

That's all I can think of right now.
