A little while ago me and my family were eating at a resturant in Scotland, where we live. We noticed that our waiter had an American accent and, seeing that we lived in America for just under 10 years (most of my life) we decided we had to ask where this guy was from. Upon asking our waiter where he was from we were shocked to find out that, not only is he from the same state we were, he was from the same town, and he was on an exchange program from a university just down the street from where we lived.

i have several other weird examples of this that link into the "6 degrees of seperation" theory and the fact that it truely is a small world...

so the question i pose to you, the escapist community, is have you ever been in a situation similar to this? where something happned and you realised to yourself that it really is a small world.

4 years back, my friend moved away and I lost contact with him.

2 years ago, when my parents took me to some countries on vacation, I ran into him TWICE.

I'm still calling conspiracies on that.

*edit
In case you're wondering, it was in the air port when I was leaving Canada, and the airport leaving Jamaica.

In high school in Asia, I knew a girl who was Japanese-German mixed race who grew up in Japan.
After graduation, a different friend of mine went to Boston for university and made friends with another girl who was also Japanese-German and had grown up in Japan. In fact, both of these girls had gone to the same Kindergarten. Weird.
Bonus: they're both insanely hot.

Aside from that... can't think of anything.

I was in a bookstore in Great Yarmouth, England talking to the shopkeeper. It turned out that she was from the exact same town where I live. It was amazing as at the same time we both said "Your accent sounds familiar are you from...". Spooky! Best conversation ever!!
