When you mail it in, they tell you to keep the face plate and all other accessories. Guess you should have read the instructions better.

really? i've sent it in twice before with the front on and had it sent back fine

Mine was broken so i just left it on. When it came back i had a new one.

That's what I'm saying, they tell you to take it off before you ship it, it's possible that they simply lost it while fixing the console, it's odd, but they do tell you to take it off.

I'm pretty sure that you only have to take it off if you have a custom faceplate, at least that's what I remember from what I sent mine in. I know that I left mine on and it came back fine.

the real problem was not being able to sync my controller up, but i just used my brothers face plate for a sec and synced it, i can still play fine, just turn it on using a pencil
