Yeah, but the blame doesn't lie with the players here. It lies with the developers. As far as I understand it, attacking, destroying and looting other ships are an integral part of the game. The blame lies with the developers who decided that "real destruction of property" should be a part of their game.migo said:http://www.massively.com/2010/08/08/eve-player-destroys-over-1000-worth-of-game-time/
Sometimes a game is just a game, and in this case, it really isn't. That's real piracy, and real destruction of property.
Nothing, they've already had devs helping out certain corporations.TPiddy said:While I love the idea of being able to destroy other people's stuff and raid their ships... the fact that game in itself is contributing to lining the developer's pockets is kind of lame. What's to stop them from creating their own PLEX Raider accounts and just destroying / hoarding all the PLEX they cna find? Smells like a cheap tactic to get extra money if you ask me.
From what I've gathered PLEXs are just in-game versions of those prepaid cards you can get at best buy or whatever. They work like regular items, you can buy and sell them. Rich players can essentially play for free by buying these with in game money, and rich people can spend real money and sell them to make in game money. So the guy was carrying like 500 of those prepaid cards in his ship, and got asploded.Zachary Amaranth said:I'm not entirely sure I understand what's going on here.
So this is effectively an in game item you buy with cash with a real cash value that can be stolen or destroyed?
