After 4 long years I finally did it, I defeated Demon's Souls, a game that has been haunting me since I received it as a gift many years ago. I beat Dark Souls earlier this year, and the other day that its time I beat Demon's Souls, I wouldnt let that game get the better of me. And after about 15 hours of play, I did it. I defeated Demon's Souls, and holy shit what an experience. After my experience with Dark Souls, going back to Demon's just felt natural since the games play very similar mechanically (minus the poise system :'() and I managed to beat it no less than ten minutes ago. Its so much better than the feeling I got when I beat Dark Souls. Even though Dark was harder, it hasnt been a spectre looming over me for some time.
I thought id share this story and see if anyone else had any stories of that one game you finally beat. Im sure we all have the one

I've been playing Demon's Souls intermitently for about a year now. I lose interest now and then because whatever. Last time I lost interest because I definitely missed out on Ostrava's Spectacular Key of Keys that leads to the True Final Boss Of This Game. And before that it was because I spent I don't know how many hours farming I don't know what Mystery Stone of Awesome before finding out that its Pure Form has a 0,0006% chance of showing up and as such I probably won't be able to take my Uchigatana or whatever the fuck I was upgrading to the max.

So I don't know. I would play enthusiastically for weeks, then get frustrated because I had missed this or wasted time on that, and so on.

Well after 7 damn years I was finally able to beat the Enigmatic Soldier on Proud Difficulty for Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix plus. I got the game the year it came out, and that one boss has been the bane of my existence. I finally beat him, as I will have to again for the LP. I've fought him so many times I know how his AI acts for every move combination he does... >.>

I found Demons Souls harder some of those black phantoms were nuts but then I did finish it a while before playing Dark Souls so maybe I was just better at Dark Souls.

Think it was two years ago now I finally finished Mario the Lost Levels i.e the real Mario 2 it took me 18 frikkin years to do that last level. Its not like I had been trying constantly but I made a fair few attempts over the years it just proved impenetrable to me.

Then one day my cousin came round and he wanted to play Mario All Stars on the SNES like old times so we ended up on Lost Levels the only unfinished game on there. He gave up after about an hour but I kept going mainly due to his insistence that I do so and after about 2 hours I finally rescued Peach I actually took a picture on my camera and uploaded it to facebook which is almost unheard of I mean I only go on that site about 3 times a year thats how happy I was.

Depressing thing is though that apparently the true version i.e the Japanese version only had checkpoints at worlds not levels and it was still this damn hard seriously that last level is insane and that oh so funny warp pipe near the end that sends you right back to the start of the level if you take it oh Nintendo you rascals you, no seriously *$%@ you guys.

I think thats the game I have been stuck on longest with actual intent to go and finish it someday.
