Ok, so it's been a long day for you and before you go to bed, you decide to take a shower. After stepping into the shower and turning it on, to your surprise the water is freezing cold! You try to turn up the temperature but unknown to you that the your family members have showered before you and used up all the hot water. In this situation, what would you do? Personally I would probably curse silently to myself then try to finish showering as quick as possible. I don't want to jump out and get the floor wet.

Tough it out, and hopefully don't get frozen.

Then track down the person who used up all my damn hot water!

I burn myself as my building does not understand the concept of cold water. One mm is ice, one more mm is scalding.

Doesn't happen to much to me. Instead I'll be in the middle of a shower and someone else will turn the water on somewhere else in the house. Then my nice warm water turns really cold suddenly. That's a real *****.

We've got an electric shower.
It happened to me a week or so ago at my ex's house, but I braved it because I had spent the previous night in a smoke-filled environment and probably smelled like the aftermath of a fire on a cannabis plantation.

Thats why I always stick my arm in first, so I can test the temperature.

I'll just wait roughly an hour or just skip showering completely.

It would never happen, since my Condensing Boiler creates hot water instantly, so there isn't a supply of hot water to run out.

However, if my boiler was broken or there was a gas shortage, then I'd be forced to use our other shower, which is heated by electricity so that can't run out of hot water either.

But if there was both a gas and a power cut, then I guess I wouldn't be taking a shower, but if the hot water supply stopped during a shower, then I would get out and check the boiler since that would be the symptom of a serious problem which would require immediate attention.

I also wouldn't get into a shower unless the water was warm, but in the worse case scenario I can have a cold shower.

Once when I was doing repairs to my house and had no internal hot or cold water, I washed myself with a hose connected to an outside tap... that was more akin to torture than bathing, especially since the water was under high pressure that stung like a ************ and the only shower gel I had was some kind of minty menthol "awakening" stuff that really hurts your delicate areas when combined with high pressure cold water, but I certainly felt extremely invigorated and it put me in a great frame of mind for my night out on the town.

It depends on how cold it is, but I usually try to have the shower anyway.

I live at school, so it's not very rare.

Endure the cold water! I had to take cold (well room temperature) showers quite often in my second year of Uni (the accomdation had a crappy boiler).

So... its just like every other day?

Sorry, i take icecold showers all the time. Nothing like snapping to attention when you get shot at with ice cold water. Saves on the energy bill too.

I force the water to heat up or face my wrath. Usually works.
Pretty much this. What method do you use? I'm partial to the "shoot laser-beams from my eyes to heat the water" method.
