The smell of your wife in the morning :)
When i wake up and i take a deep breath, its good to know shes there, smelling like strawberries and fabric softener.

Oh, and moral choice system in games. I dont care how poorly its done, at least i have the choice to be a d*ck.

Having air-conditioning that works so well that I did not know that it was 109 degrees fahrenheit outside until I stumbled across the weather report for my area.

And for gaming making a perfect, long-distance head shot on an enemy while playing Sniper: Ghost Warrior on Hard (the hard setting takes away the indicator for where the bullet will land) and without using the concentration/bullet-time feature. IT made me feel like a total bad-ass to see the sentry just drop in a spray of blood.

The poem 'If', by Rudyard Kipling. If you've never read it, here it is:

I always hear it in a kindly elderly voice, and it always makes me smile.
I have two handwritten poems in my wallet. If is one of them. This is the other.

I have no work until Tuesday. I have nothing that really needs to be done for the next few days. I had a great breakfast and am close to a great dinner. I also just boosted my SNES collection with Alien 3, Super Castlevania and, Star Fox. I am happy.

(living with my GF is another factor. She always makes me happy though so she may not count here)

I passed all of my GCSEs, ALL OF THEM. AND THE RESULTS DAY WAS ON MY FRIGGIN' BIRTHDAY!!! I mean what if I got ONE grade I didn't want? And this means I can do A level Game Design in college in a week or two.

Other than that, Just saw the Inbetweeners film... again. First with my friends, then my parents, since they love the inbetweeners. Then I'm seeing it again tomorrow with another friend who didn't come with me the first time. Seeing it way too many times you might say? I say it's a great film and I would see it every day if I could.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who likes that game. I've actually got a tweed jacket, but with no leather patches *sad face*

Life is awful, I've just broken up with my insane fiancée and effectively booted her out of the house, emotionally I am ruined

Life is great because now I'm free and single! Yeah!

Playing a game with a drink nearby and playing for hours knowing that I have nothing to do that day and the next.

Greatest. Feeling. Ever.

Got me a comfy sofa, hot crispy chicken, pasta salad, ice cream, and Star Trek: TNG on instant-watch. There's also a heavy storm outside, which I am able to completely ignore. Good evening.

All mine disappeared over the last few months.
I am in perfect health & my life is completely stable, so I probably shouldn't be complaining about the little things.

...that make life great, wouldn't you agree? I just had roast beef with Yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, 5 kinds of veg, cauliflower cheese and home-made gravy (proper beef gravy, none of that packet stuff!) I've got the day off work tomorrow, and no jobs to do, errands to run, or commitments to meet. In short, I am utterly content with life right now.

How about you, fellow Escapists? What little things have made you think "Life is sweet" recently?
We Yorkshire folk really are awesome.

For me, it's smelling freshly mown grass and all the verdant plant life. Listening to the birds chirping. Being really thirsty and taking that first big gulp of an ice cold coke or beer. When dating someone, getting it on fantastically, and then catching your breath and just curling up together.

The fact that I often take a 2 hours train trip (which I had to get up early) to the city just to see my best friend and hang out wit him for the day is so worth it.

If your wife smells of fabric softener how did you get her to fit in the washing machine? : /

I agree it's the little things in life that make us happy. But I also strongly believe in following Maslow's hierarchy of needs to attain a bit of perspective : D. As long as I follow this it puts a lot into perspective http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Maslow%27s_Hierarchy_of_Needs.svg
