I have been playing Rogue Galaxy for the PS2 lately and it's quite fun. One thing I really appreciate is the fact that any cutscene can be skipped, as well as any of the flashy ability performances during combat. This little addition makes me appreciate the game all the more because the developers were considerate that people may just want to explore, grind and collect in the game and skip the story parts.

So what are little additions to some games that make you appreciate a game more?

Well, I've currently begun the Mass Effect trilogy (a little late, I know) and am still on the first game. I don't know why, but I just love how when I run past a soldier, he salutes me. And then when I disembark the ship, it announces the second in command is now the XO. And when I return, it states that I am back and the fill-in XO is relieved.

Little touches like that really enhance this game.

Skullgirls had a bunch of little touches I enjoyed. Button configuration at character select, the showing of button combinations for each costume color, and a feature that prevents accidental pauses. Reverge Labs went above and beyond the call of duty there, and I can't help but admire that.

The rotor blades on the gunships in Half Life 2 are made of gossamer, like giant dragonfly wings.

I just found out this week on my third run through of Fallout New Vegas that for computer hacking, if you search the gibberish parts, you find little snippets of symbols that get rid of false passwords.

Also just realized a couple weeks ago that every social link character appears somewhere in the background of Persona 3's first few days.
