Can you suggest a quirk in a game, new or old, which just made that particular title so much more enjoyable?

E.G: The way Niko Bellic flies through his car windshield upon high-speed impact with a stationary object. (GTA IV)

My personal favourite is the arrow collision in Oblivion. Investigating a recent kill and finding your arrow lodged in your target's eye/neck/ear is supremely satisfying, and makes archery SO much more fun.

That little jingle in BioShock's vending machines. It's refreshing to hear that little tune when you access them. And let's not forget the ever famous:

"WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF YOU'RE READING THIS IN MY VOICE, AREN'T YOU?"

Whenever one of the characters pulls off the slow-down coup de grace on an ogre in Dragon Age: Origins. Never gets old.

Just about everything in RDR. From catching a small critter running through the underbrush out of the corner of your eye as you ride the plains, to the way the trees will bend with the wind in a storm.

It's astounding.

This! The dragons was a slightly bit more awesome though.

I also liked the false propaganda broadcasts in Just Cause 2, they always make me think of the States, China and Korea, but they put a smile to my face instead of making me angry.

I hated those clown vending machines. I'd back into a corner and suddnely I'd hear "WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF VALUE!" and leap five feet into the air.

OT: Hmm, pinning an enemy heavy to the wall with a huntsman in TF2 I've always found amusing, and multi-click voices for units in Blizzard RTS are always a good laugh, especially the Orc Grunt ones where they ask you why the hell you are clicking on thme over and over.

Oh, and one more: the advisor in Tropico. Somehow, being addressed as "Presidente" in that cheesy Hispanic accent made the game the gem it was.

I like the way in Earthbound, status problems are visible in the overworld. If you get diamondised, your character turns into a little diamond person. Paralysation causes them to walk around all slow and strange. If you are possesed by a mini ghost, it flys around your head. And if you are mushroomised, you have a little mushroom on your head and the d-pad sends your characters into erratic directions.

Many dislike Earthbound because of the combat mechanics, but it conatins a lot of features that it is shocking other RPGs haven't picked up.

I liked forcibly carjacking vehicles in Saint's Row 2. It always tickled me how the bodies would just roll around the interior, ignored by the Boss and his companions.

Francis' quips, especially I hate Fountains or I hate Ayn Rand, I laughed so hard the first time it happened that I got my team killed. Or the radio in l4d2 is pretty amusing, also the writing in the safe rooms.

I adore the "TV shows" Remedy puts into thier games (at least Max Payne 1+2 and Alan Wake)
Not they not only reflect recent events of the actual story in a weird way, they are also really funny in thier own right, letting the developers really go crazy (wich is saying a lot given that the plots of Max Payne and Alan Wake are bordering on being affectionate parodys of thier respective subject matters themselves). And in Alan Wake, all the TV stuff is actually live action, abeit in very small resolution.
My personal Highlights: The "prototype Adress Unknown" Twin Peaks Parody in Max Payne 1, the incredibly dark "Dearest of all my friends" Quizshow/Dream in Max Payne 2 and the "Night Springs" (Twilight Zone Parody) Episode in Alan Wake that has two women discover a strange portal in the basement.

Despite that, i really like any game with "dynamic soundtracks", aaand...uhm..oh yeah, a really cool gimmick in Just Cause 1 was that you could actually fly so high that the curvature of the earth becomes visible. I haven't played the sequel properly yet, but it seems this was cut out :/

Good news everyone!

The Enrichment Center promises to stop making you read things in this voice in 3... 2... -static-

Sorry. -has spent too much time on TV Tropes-

OT: All the quirks Valve puts into their games- the little back and forth between the radio operator and Hunter... hunter in Episode 2, the writing in the safe rooms in Left 4 Dead, and all the weird crap GLaDOS says xD

I also enjoy the little scans in the Metroid Prime series, some have made me crack up like mad. The one standout instance was in Echoes, when I found one that read 'Metroids are not pets. Metroids are not target practice. And finally, the unauthorized feeding of metroids is still a crime' (or something like that.) I giggled a bit. Later on, you find metroids in stasis tanks- scanning them shows that one has indeed been target practice, and one is suffering from food poisoning after ingesting pirate rations and pet treats.

I lol'd.

5 of them accually
1.the donkey-lady glitch in Red Dead Redemption (makes me so happy)
2.how Travis Recharges his beam katana in No More Heroes.
3.This only happened to be once but in Left 4 Dead 2 one of the jukeboxes in the game was playing "All we wanna do is eat your brains" by Jonathan Coulton
4.Moria Brown's terminal in fallout 3 supplies many laughs.
5.and finally the cow stuck in the side of jabbu jabbu's belly in Ocarina of Time:Master Quest made me stop playing for a minute and just start at the screen belly laughing and mummbleing "What?"
Bonus: Bayonetta Screaming "Henshin a GO-GO baby" in Bayonetta

In point lookout when you reverse pickpocket an explosive and they yell "WATCH OUT Y'ALL!"
