Hmmmm....

Methinks Ide take a suppressed SCAR/Masada firing 7.62 NATO rounds with a 1911 .45 caliber as my backup/CQ weapon.

Excellent handling with folding stock for any possible up close and personal action. And it pack a wallop too.

i understand you are joking but you can hit zombies with the one end.
interesting note on that Gerber machete: I actually own one, and after about a month of hard use hacking through vines and ivy, the grip was rattling horribly... they don't put a full tang on those, and the two bolts that they mount it with are insufficient to prevent cracking in the plastic grip. Mine's essentially broken and useless now. You're far better off with a more traditional "latin machete", especially in a zombie apocalypse scenario. You'll want something that can perform a task it wasn't designed for (opening skulls). That machete can't even do what it was designed for... at least not for very long.
Note the angle of the blade:

Fair enough. That's pretty much why I bought mine. Big mistake on my part.

Depends on if they are slow or fast zombies. Some sort of mid to long distance rifle is all well and good when you're going up against zombies you can easily run away from, but against fast zombies you might take 1 or 2 down but then you're boned.
