Alright, the title may be slightly misleading, but I don't really know what else to have as the title. Anyway, the point of this thread is the following:

-Whenever I try to install iTunes (on Vista home basic, 32bit) it freezes my computer, requiring a hard restart
-All the guides I have tried online don't work
-Dear god, I need more music on my iPod.

So, Escapist, I beg of you, offer me a solution, or an alternative. If an alternative, please give me some sort of guide of how to configure it with my iPod.

Edit: It's an iPod touch, so it needs to be compatible with that.

Buy CDs, be happy. Or you can try Rhapsody or whatever.
Not asking where to download music, I'm asking for an alternative / fix for iTunes, so I can even put any music on my iPod.

I know this may seem old school, but Winamp can read your iPod and might be able to write onto it. I got suckered into using it again when I was DJing and haven't let it go.

Do you know if it works for an iTouch? I don't really want to have any more wild goose chases.

Other online music stores. There are hundreds. I think you can buy music off Allmusic, if so then do.

i wish i could offer you a solution if not for the fact that I haven't been able to upgrade to the new version because this shitty software freezes halfway through. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit. How can they make such a good device but assfuck the software needed to run it? I'm seriously considering getting a zune.

Edit: People saying download some where other than itunes, you still gotta put that shit on itunes to transfer it to your ipod, don't you? or am I missing something?
