What was your first post on this site? Yeah, I'm sure this thread has been done before, but will another one ruin the balance of the Universe? Probably not.

If you're wondering how to get your first post, just go your profile and go to posts, then go to the first page and copypaste/quote it.

I occurs to me that you can't get the first post you ever made... Ah, whatever. Just get the one closest to first =/

Mine would be:

and another great thing would be to start and end the story i.e. you start in your home with the television peoples telling you to not have alot contact with the world etc. etc. and then you get to go prepare for the coming apocalypse, lets say you have 5 days before things start getting dangerous. and then you have to start surviving, with a basic goal. Get out of the city alive by whatever means necessary. and i think you should have a way to get infected but you have an hour or so before you are turned and you have to wash out the wound and hope for the best. basically a zombie survival simulator.
An epic first post!

One of my several habits have already been mentioned. In RTS games, mostly Dawn of War, I like my plasma generators to be in some sort of quadrilateral shape together.
Another two of my habits are
A) If I'm winning on an RTS, and totally kicking ass, my hand not in use (always my left) spazzs and shakes about in a kind of frantic manner
B) On single player games I like to imagine certain NPCs to be other players. Wierd, I know.

Oh yeah, and I like to have my ammo in FPS games even with the rest. E.g. If the maximum in the clip is 40, I like to have backup ammo at 40, or 80, or 120... you get the idea.

Heh, not bad. I thought it was going to be a bit more embarrassing or something.

My first post was a response to "Your Longest Boss Fight"

Because of how many times I died (I'm not joking when I say I stopped counting after 144 game overs), the boss of the second level of Ikaruga on Hard. I still can't even get to that boss with more than one life left. When I beat the second level for the first time, I literally jumped out of my chair, and started dancing.
Pretty average.

But getting back to a point, the current curriculum (at least in America) is a focus on English and History. There is very little Math and Science required of current students. In fact I could have stopped taking Math courses my Junior year as I already had Algebra II, but I still took Pre-Calculus so I wouldn't be a poetic brick of a person. I retook IPC not because I failed it, but because I corrected the teacher most every day.

And for the final slap in the face they don't even take English or History seriously! English devolved from knowledge and communications skills to reading about struggling over adversity. They took out "The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin" which is a great novel for "Life of Pi" which is about a Hindu boy being stuck on a life raft with a sea sick Tiger for 8 weeks! That doesn't even work! It was an insipid story that supplanted a masterpiece for the sake of looking more PC. There wasn't even any critical thinking skill exercises. No poetry analysis, no grammer understanding, no detecting of undertones in stories. The biggest fuss in English was making sure you had the right colored pens. Yes in order to write a paper to their liking you had to do the rough draft, then go over it with a red pen, a green pen, a blue pen, a purple pen, a black pen, and a pencil. It was retarded and it did not benefit us in the real world in any way. I dare you to think of a writing job where that is useful!

They dumb down English, remove Science and Math, and History is how awesome America is and how we are superior.

And of course there are the inane rules about clothing and outer appearance. Some of it makes sense such as no gang affiliations on your body, but for every one of those logical rules there are three stupid rules like boys hair can't touch his back collar or go past his earlobe and no black pants. I can't make something that stupid up, there were no black pants allowed at my school. I am thankful for graduating to get away from that intelligence black hole.
I ended up derailing this thread. It's why I'm a professional.

This was one of my favorite series of all times. Ahh the endless fun of virus mode, more games should have that mode. Hell I'd be happy if more games should just have monkeys with rocket launchers but all hopes of that where dashed since the closing of Free Radical, or has someone picked the fourth in the series up to develop?

I have to admit, sometimes I just go achievment hunting or ranking up, without any intention of having fun. On the other hand, if I want to have fun in most video games, I can do that too. It completely depends on how you play them.

For example in L4D, I can try to get through campaigns on expert for xbox 360 achievments. When I get frustrated, I find a nice spot where the zombies cant get to and just sit there. The zombies will try to climb up, but they always fall down. Then climb up again. Then fall down. Climb up. Fall down.... Just like retarded monkeys, with no sense of balance.
To a thread about games being fun or not. I actually called L4D infected zombies. I was so foolish a year ago.

Ok so this will be my 200th post on the escapist forums.
Settle down I know you are all popping champaign corks in the back ground...
Sorry about the pause I just had a sarcgasm.
But it got me thinking, what are the significant mile stones in a person's postcount?

I know postcounts aren't everything or even a relivant measure of worth because you can post 7 billion posts that just agree with others just to knock your count up another notch and you can maybe write ten solid gold, thought provoking essays that inspire a great amount of healthy debate.

But never the less, what are the milestones?
What do they mean to you as a person?
And what do they say about you to other people?

Yep, been done before....

Mine was about how awesome Counter-Strike is.
Pretty much every thread you see here has been done before...
I disagree. Keep it on topic, please.
You can disagree all you want. Nice little addition with the 'Keep it on topic', considering I've already made an on-topic post which was a little more on topic than yours.

Easily the PC. Even if you don't like the keyboard and mouse you can get USB controllers, such as the 360's, and use that instead.
Nice, mine is about how the PC is superior to all other gaming platforms.

Lara Croft is the greatest gaming heroine ever

Or words to that effect. I did at least acknowledge how flame-worthy it was. I still stand by the opinion as well. Though that may be changing soon with the onset of this new game.
