Jack Thompson: Two Interesting Videos

Firstly, this is not intended as 'news', seeming as i pressume a lot of people have seen these video's already. It's more to share my thoughts, and see what other's people's thoughts, on them are. So, the story goes that I decided to look up Jack Thompson on TV Tropes (i love that site ), and i saw there were links to two video's in the sentence; 'To some people, Jack Thompson was humanized with these videos from Screwattack.com, showing Jack Thompson taking questions from the audience at Screwattack Gaming Convention, and then debating Mark Methenitis, a games lawyer.'

So what on my thoughts on them... Well, they did actually change my perspective on him, a bit. I was glad to see that he was willing to talk calmly and intelligently about some of issues and questions that often surround video game controversy. I was also suprised to see that he had such a sense of humour about himself. Of course, i'm still weary of him, because in some ways he does still seem to be a bit of a fanatic, but at the very least a fairly intelligent fanatic. So, i still don't agree with him and don't really trust him either, but i guess i have a bit more respect for him then i previously did.

So anyway, i'm interested to see what other people thoughts are on the matter.

Honestly, I stopped paying attention to him and what he was doing the very day he was disbarred, and thus rendered legally impotent. He can present his case as intelligently as he wants, he's still championing a censorship policy that's tantamount to outright government regulation, and that's something I cannot forgive.

The guy writes threatening letters to elderly women, and performed countless other horrible acts in relation to the gaming community when it suited him to do so. Whenever there was a tragic school shooting, rest assured Jack would be straight in front of a news camera to boost his profile in the only way that he could. Now this old approach has made him a laughing stock, he's trying a new one. The videos earn him no respect from me.
