Jak 4

[Premonition]

With the coming of a new generation of consoles, Naughty Dog seems to have forsaken this franchise as it did with Crash with the coming of the PS2. Yet, I really, really, really want a sequel to this franchise other than the disappointing Lost Frontiers. (Dark Daxter, seriously?) Despite having teased us with saying that it will happen eventually, do you think they'll go through on that promise anytime soon? And are you exited about it?

They won't. Critics are too busy sucking the balls of Uncharted and Naughty Dog's making too much money on them to go back to the beloved Jak franchise.

Maybe a side scroller dlc, or continuing with the psp games. I think the series proper is pretty much gone though.

Probably not, Naughty Dog are in the habit of killing off (or ending their involvement in) a series when they are finished with it. Not when the fans or publishers think they should be finished with it. So far that policy seems to serve them well.

I can see a non Naughty dog Jak coming sooner or later much Like Crash Bandicoot, but hopefully without the disastrous drop in quality.

Ratchet and Clank was by Insomniac. Hell, there are two of them for the PS3 anyway!

Hell yeah. The jak games (well the second two) where the best games of last gen IMO. They did almost EVERYTHING (platformer, beat em up, racing game, skateboard-whateveryoucallit) and while it never really excelled in one field it did everything well enough to where the amount of variety was enough to keep the game fresh. Unfortunately, the driving, which was the definite low point got more and more attention until it literally took over the series. If Jak 4 was announced and it looked like an improved jak 3 I would go from completely flaccid to rock solid instantaneously.

I think they will, possibly holding out until they really need it. I'd be pretty interested with it because it will be my first game of the series.

OT: Never really played the Jak games, seemed decent enough, however.

Probably my favourite series of games... and Jak 3 would be in my top 5 games of all time if I ever made such a list... BUT! Naughty Dog have moved on (as they did with Crash) and so should we... Now they are onto Uncharted, and so it will stay until the next generation...

Also I liked the Lost Frontier demo and I plan to get the full game as soon as exams are over and I commence buying games again...

And by move on I don't mean stop playing Jak games... I mean stop waiting for new ones because I doubt it will happen... But if it did... Imagine the possibilities, whoops.. lost my strain of thought there...

Yup, Naughty dog and Insomniac were 2 of my favourite studios when I was younger, not least because I could actually legally walk in and buy their games.

Their guns are some of the most imaginative and fun I have seen. And Christ do I sound like a marketing ploy.
