With the trailer being released like two weeks ago i already gott say......THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME.

James Cameron has been working on this for TEN years and i think he spent all the money he made from Titanic.

This is might be one of the greatest looking movies iv ever seen, and this movie will be great.

What are your thoughts about Avatar?

Im not much of a movie watcher, but I'm interested to see if this movie will make any money at all considering the cost of it. Also I want to know how long it is (has that info been released?)

Looks like it'll be a very pretty movie, but nothing new in the plot department, if the scripts and Avatar wiki are at all accurate. It won't bomb unless the stale green message somehow overpowers the visuals, but it won't be a great movie, either. It's far too black-and-white to really engage the mind.

If the hero had to decide between saving the Earth and saving Pandora, that would be a hard and consequential choice with no simple solution. When it's Big Business vs. Pretty Trees, it's a no brainer. For us to sympathize with the hero caught between two worlds, both have to have merit. For the movie to have tension, we have to be in doubt over which he will choose.

It'll look good, but aside from that, meh. The story looks predictable, the character even more predictable and, I'll be honest, I don't think James Cameron is that great.

I saw the trailer and I was fucking drooling.

It's been a long time since we've had an original, totally exotic sci-fi film to refresh the genre...

District 9's done a great deal towards this, but it's set in a familiar location, and Avatar's bizzaro creatures, splendrous jungle environments, no-holds-barred warfare, and unorthodox interspecies love story are all just so overwhelming.

Edit:

We may be seeing the return of dazzling, imaginative sci-fi in the 21st Century.
