It seems quite a good time to discuss why James Cameron the director of the Abyss and Titanic who seems to love the subaquatic world has never adapted any of the Clive Cussler books. A writer who's books always feature the sea heavily.

Case in point, Sahara was a good action comedy romp with some great action scenes, it was not however a good adaptation of the book.

Titanic was a crap film which would have really done with a decent story to hang on the special effects, Clive Cussler wrote "RAise the titanic!" a book which screams for a decent adaptation as opposed to the eighties mess which the producer was quoted as saying "it would be cheaper to lower the Atlantic!"

So the talking point is this what no brainer combination of director and writer has never happened that should do. And if you are a fan of the Dirk Pitt adventures who would you like to see play him and direct a film of his adventures.
