Saw this on Del Toro's twitter, remembered how rad Hellstar Remina was, and proceeded to nearly throw up.
Why is there no God in this Konami filled world.

Would have been a match made in heaven, or... hell to be more precise.

Uzumaki and Gyo are the most mind-raping pieces of fiction I have ever read.

in the immortal words of Yahtzee, "There is no middle finger big enough"

del Toro, Jinji Ito, and Kojima working on the same project. That could have been single handedly the scariest game ever created. And Konami just... let this star power go to waste... Fuck you Konami, fuck you and everything you now stand for. Phantom Pain will be the last game I ever buy, and the last time I give them cash unless they can turn themselves around.

Junji Ito? Isn't that the guy behind The Enigma of Amigara Fault, as well as that fish zombie manga? His work is among the only work that's ever managed to put me at unease. It really is quite more a shame than it already was that Silent Hills was canceled if he was working on it.

Here's hoping that, since Kojima and Del Toro have already said they'd collaborate on something else without Konami, they bring in Ito as well, no matter what it is.

P.S. Thanks

Considering how Kojima always loved to break the fourth wall, maybe that's the horror that both, him and Del Toro, are inflicting on us. Maybe Silent Hills wasn't a real project, and they're making us suffer through this story about an amazing game that never came to be. That's why Guillermo keeps tweeting about it, just to twist the knife a little more. We're all part of the interactive torture porn they created!!!!

Nothing to stop them making the game, just call it something else. If anything, the game might be better without the connection with Konami. Go on Kickstarter, get it funded and get it made. Its perfect, Kojima is doing nothing as he cant make MGS6 and Del Toro has had production on Pacific Rim 2 halted for a while. So get to it.

This makes far too much sense.
We're all in our own personal silent hill.
The whole thing was an ARG and none of us knew we were taking part.

I can only give Konami credit for one thing at this point. At least they are trying their best to get out of the video game business. That's it, that's all I can think of as a positive for this situation and even that's overshadowed by the fact that they'll probably take their IP's with them.
I think the better word would be "trying their hardest." If Konami was actually doing their best, they'd be leaving with a lot more grace than they are now. There's a lot of things Konami could've done to make their exit from the games industry smoother and with much better reception, but apparently they've decided to burn every bridge they could find instead. I don't see how angering customers gets them more money, but they must think it does.

Oh Jesus, Ito's the one who wrote Amigara Fault. Now it all makes so much sense...

Del Toro, I get it, you're upset about Silent Hills being cancelled, I am too. BUT YOU ARE RUBBING SALT IN THE WOUND BY LETTING US KNOW THIS WAS A FACT. WE KNOW KONAMI IS A GARBAGE COMPANY AND THERE'S NO WAY WE CAN MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE MOST ABRUPT AND CUSTOMER HOSTILE EXIT FROM THE INDUSTRY. So please, for the love of GOD, just STOP talking about it!

That picture, tho'...

There's a fine line between "scared-uncomfortable" and "'What the fuck am I looking at?"'-uncomfortable", and Junji Ito is always in the latter category for me. Would've translated very well into a Silent Hill-game, I think.

It's a shame that Konami are such shitheads.
