Jersey Shore Star in Hot Water Over Grenade Dodger
Karma may have finally hit the "Situation" of Jersey Shore thanks to his very own videogame, and even six-pack abs might not save him his time.
Even though some of the comments made by the stars of MTV's Jersey Shore [http://www.amazon.com/Jersey-Shore-Uncensored-Season-One/dp/B003IB0FUS/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1285603558&sr=1-1] elicit chortles, they're pretty tough on the female population. In an attempt to capitalize on his surprising stardom in every way, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino put out an iPhone game called Grenade Dodger where he has to dodge unwanted female advances. The game may have him in a spot of trouble, because one of the title's "grenades" isn't very happy about her part in the game.
A "grenade" is a term used by Sorrentino to refer to a woman he doesn't find attractive. To make the game more realistic, Hey Turbo, the team that developed Grenade Dodger, accompanied Sorrentino into a club and took pictures of women he deemed "grenades." Some of the women's faces were included in the game, which tasks The Situation to dodge them as they fall from the top of the screen.
According to RadarOnline, one of the girls saw her face in Grenade Dodger and plans to take Mr. Situation down over it, if she can. "While the girls did know their photos were being taken, they were unaware they were about to become official grenades," a source said. "It came as a complete surprise and at least one of them is now considering her legal options."
Believe it or not, Sorrentino's application rose to become one of the platform's top-ten grossing pieces of software. For the girls involved, this makes for a very public embarrassment. I won't say that I don't watch Jersey Shore from time to time, but I definitely do feel bad for the women that see themselves insulted on the show for entertainment at times. It looks like some of that negative energy may finally blow back on The Situation, not that it'll matter much to someone that's become massively popular thanks to doing crunches and fist-pumping.
