Eh, it's a half and half for me.

Out the extreme turds I backed Trump (though I'm not American). Still not completely sure how I feel about Brexit because I don't believe I know enough yet. I'm happy people noticed the flaws in The Forced Awakening. Love the game INSIDE. Loved Thank You Scientist's new album. Sad because so many big celebrities had died, and some other stuff.

And because 2016 wanted to give us one more kick in the balls before shuffling off: Ron Glass (best known as Shephard Book from Firefly, or Det. Ron Harris from Barney Miller) has died at the age of 71.

What the holy flying fucking fuck did I just read?

That's Fox's pet conspiracy guy, right? The one with the whiteboard?

What the hell happened? Did he have a heart attack and find god or something?

I just change my avatar when I heard that. I loved Barney Miller as a kid. Of course, Firefly is the best television show ever. He will be missed.

Not God; Michella Obama.

More specifically, Trump proved distasteful enough that he actually made Glenn Beck change his mind. Which isn't surprising, given how many Republican figures feel the same way - McCain, Romney, Cruz, they all hate Trump. Every man has his standards. Credit to Glenn for sticking to them.

His ratings are going to go to the toilet, naturally, but he'll bounce back.

See, the funny thing is, Glenn used to be okay. When I first heard of him, he was on CNN. He talked about Republican points in a way that didn't make my skin crawl. He had good arguments for Republican views, and he acted like a human being while on the network. I would actually watch him, because it was a different point of view than what I was used to, and I enjoyed it.
Then he went to Fox and went nuts.
But it's nice to see that he's coming back around.

Not to mention, we got Stranger Things, Westworld, Warcraft movie, some slightly-less-overhyped Disney films, Pokemon Go livened up everyone's summer, Overwatch and its slew of shorts, and Rick & Morty season 3 is there to finish off the year for us. I'm sure there're a lot of great things that people liked that I haven't mentioned.

In terms of the bad, we've had an opinion poll for a Brexit which hasn't actually happened yet, and a glimpse at a reality show in a country that forgets it's a democracy, not a dictatorship.

Maybe people just need to stop whining about things that they don't personally like. Because a lot of good things happened this year which are clouded by cynical people.
Could be argued that having some movies that some people liked doesn't balance terrible political developments.

Now, I'm sure you could find some other good things from this year, but you've got a bit of weak list there.

I think I found the most appropriate theme song for this year. It's by the late, great Leonard Cohen.

He's a normal person now
I wouldn't call someone who's a fan of Ted Cruz and rubs cheeto dust on his face on National TV a "normal person". He's still the same old crazy mofo, one that knows that Trump holds grudges, and one that knows he's on his shitlist.

As for 2016, all is forgiven if the early access version of Bannerlord is released before the end of the year.

In a week three more celebrities have died. And there's still a whole month left...
