So, Jet Set Radio is now out for PSN, XBL, and Steam. The original game that really helped make sure that the Dreamcast will be remembered as an amazing console, now in HD! Thoughts and opinions?

This is my first time playing it, but I adored Jet Set Radio Future on the Xbox. Just as good as it's sequel, too! The gameplay is fluid, and the speed comes in 2 extremes, ultra slow (walking, starting to skate) and ultra fast (grinding, skating downhill). Still, the graphics have aged gracefully, thanks to it being the world's first cel-shaded game. Still, the age shows when you look at characters like DJ Professor K. Especially when compared to his JSRF counterpart.

I've noticed there are a few JSRF tracks in the Extras menu, does anyone know if they're available to use in-game as bgm, or are they only for the menu?

One more point for discussion: Now that this is out, and even with a few tracks from it's sequel, if this does well, what are the chances of JSRF also getting the HD treatment?

Neat. I already have both games, but nevertheless more people should be exposed to games about graffing and sticking it to the man to funky tunes in a stylish, colorful universe.

Also, Professor K is too awesome for graphics to matter. -Points towards avatar-

I have JSRF for the original Xbox. I'd like to play that without having to get offline, so HD that please. Please.

I've never actually played the original though, so I might pick up some Microsoft points.

You know, I don't like platformers, but JSR and JSRF are of the few I'll gladly play, even if I suck and get frustrated at them all the time, lol

I didn't have a Dreamcast, but I had Jet Set Radio Future on the original Xbox and loved it. So I was all over this. Hopefully enough of us buy it that they release JSRF too.

Same here. I've been enjoying getting incredibly frustrated, lol. Seriously, though, game deserves its praise.

If you prefer PC, it's also on Steam.

JSR, I haven't played it but since it wasn't too long ago since I played JSRF i'll wait on this a couple of months.

From what I understand it's more of a technical game than JSRF and thats right down my street.

As for a re-release of JSRF...isn't the original game backwards compatible with the 360?
From what I understand US and JPN 360 are emulated quite well. I have the PAL version which has alot of slowdown in 2 or 3 areas. Thats much better than Smilebits other XBOX game Panzer Dragoon Orta on the PAL 360 it crashes at the end of stage 3. (PAL 360s got the short end of the stick with XBOX emulation) EDIT also the original release only works not the JSRF / GT pack in game

I would love SEGA to do HD remakes of these games but it's very doubtful we will see it happening atleast in this console gen.

Ah...fond memories of the turn of the millennium, I remember this game and Sonic Adventure making me rethink the graphics chase, that there were so many possibilities beyond emulating real life.

Well, one more game gets chalked off the "reasons to hook up the Dreamcast with that lovely VGA cable" list. Anyone else remember how awesome the memory cards were back in the day?

I never had a Dreamcast, but always wanted one. Thanks to amazing releases like these, though, I'm getting less and less reasons to need one.

I was actually looking into that game again. Well not that one specifically. I'm talking about the sequel. I never played Jet Set Radio. The only one I played was Jet Set Radio Future. But back then, I loved that game so much. I think I was way too young to have even played a Dreamcast. Now that I have the chance to play the original, I'll definitely try it out. It would be cool if they made another Jet Set Radio game. Unfortunately, I really doubt that'll ever happen. It is really unlikely that they'd be willing to take a such risk like that; in this day and age. Especially when most publishers are aiming to sell their games by the millions. Something like Jet Set Radio would not sell very well.

I'd like to try it but no demo=no buy.

Plus a few reviews are saying it sucks and until I can be the judge, I'm going to side with them.
