I know we all hate job searching and I have really grown to hate it.

I am currently searching for a good first job. I don't know what it is but I just simply hate the idea of becoming a bagboy or a cashier.

So my question to you is

Do you have any ideas for something a 16 year old could do as a first job that wouldn't suck and i could haved a chance getting hired for?

...give you a few quid to mow my lawn.

I think at 16 you have to accept that you are limited to the jobs that noone else wants to do. I'm 23 and I'm limited to the jobs noone else wants to do.

Get a job at Chapters or *insert book store here*. Then again I'm a bibliophile, so maybe it's just me.

Most likely your gonna have to take that bagboy/cashier job. For a 16 yr. old w/ no experience, finding a job that you gonna like is hard.

Just take the bagboy/cashier job for now, get some experience under your belt, and that will help you get a better job in the future.

Try out the local restraunts and fast foo joints. It sucks but without experience you are kind of shit out of luck, unless you know someone.

Take whatever job you get and then work from there. Even if it is just a bag boy, you'll get experience and references - both an advantage when applying for work.

Just suck it up and do whatever you need to do to get some money coming in, and then start looking elsewhere (this is how it works for most people).

Prostitute? Seriously. No experience or qualifications your only real options is the exciting world of bag boy or lawn mower. "Paper or plastic?" Learn to love those words.
A little off-topic, was there ever a Paper or plastic vs thread?

Bad neighborhood? Mugger
Good neighborhood? Mugger with little-to-no competition
Bad neighborhood? Drug Dealer
Good Neighborhood? Local Drug Lord
Bad neighborhood? Car Jacker
Good neighborhood? Car washer

Can't say I didn't give you choices.

Get something where you get to interact with lots of different people. Even if that's not your thing, it's good to get used to it.

Well, since I help people find jobs for a living I will give you these three pieces of advice.

1. follow your passion and be creative
2. network the hell out of everyone you know. A stone left unturned will never reveal the gold hidden underneath (shows the worms sometimes too...but you get the idea).
3. You can convince any employer to hire you to anything, as long as you can show them that you will make them more money than you will cost them.

If you are interested in a trade - say painting - why not go to a painting company in your area and propose to clean the brushes. Your argument is "Painters get paid 20$/hour whether they are painting or cleaning brushes. If, by paying me 10$/hour to clean the brushes, your painters have more time available to paint, then you will be able to do more business and thus make more money".

Please excuse any ungrammatical (hehe) aspects of the message.

I feel your pain dude... I'm 22 and just spent 6 years at frakking domino's. What do I get to move on to now?... Subways... That's just frakking great.

EDIT:

OT now I think about it, get used to the phrases - "Would you like X with that?"
"Would you like cashback?"
"Can I interest you in X?"
"We also have X on special offer?"
"Would you like to go large on that?"

AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH I FUCKING HATE UPSELLING!!!!
