Well not officially but I think its interesting. There is a major rumor floating around that Joel Schumacher will be writing a twelve issue year long Batman series for DC. Except its not just any Batman series. He will be apparently revisiting Batman: Forever and Batman and Robin as well as writing the unmade Batman: Triumphant which would've been the 5th movie in the original Batman series.
Supposedly the idea is that it will be his original vision for the movies that was shut down by Warner Brothers because of the controversial Batman: Returns. Joel Schumacher has repeatedly apologized for the Batman films, but has stated he is actually a fan of Batman and that Batman Triumphant was meant to take the character back to the darker roots he had in the original Tim Burton movie.
So what do you guys think? Personally I think, if there is any lingering grudge, we are at the point where we should let it go and forgive the man for those two movies. Given that he is a fan of the character I'm actually excited to see what his real vision would've been. While Spider-man 3 had the unfortunate meddling of Sony they only forced Venom on Sam Raimi and Raimi tried to make it work as best he could. Where as it seems WB forced the entire production and tone aesthetic of Joel's two Batman movies and he couldn't make it work. (Gee its like a film studio forcing a director to go against their vision can cripple or ruin a film).
Whatever your feelings though its sure to be interesting and almost kind of novel in that the 5th original Batman film is in the scenario of one of those "lost chapters" type things.
