To the Music Appreciation Thread Makers, my contribution, a thread on the guitar virtuoso John 5.
For those who don't know (and I'm guessing most of you don't), John 5 (aka John Lowery) is a bluegrass country and metal guitarist born in Michigan 1971. He has played with many big name artists including Rob Halford, David Lee Roth, Kiss, Marilyn Manson, K.D Lang, and is currently the guitarist for Rob Zombie. He has released 5 solo albums along with collaborating with aforementioned artists and many.
The 5 in his name is from when he was the member of Marilyn Manson, after the last guitarist left and he joined, he was the fifth member, thus he was called John 5, which is also a biblical term. He kept the name after leaving Manson, and is more known as that today.
He is also an avid collector of guitars, having many rare Telecasters, including a Fender Broadcaster (today worth 135,000$). But enough of the meaningless trivia.
I will introduce you to him through one or two videos here;
Those are only two of his great songs. Any questions regarding him, go to his site, or ask me, I know very much about him (on the border that it's worrying)
This is what he looks like nowadays:
To me, he is one of the greatest guitarists I know (along with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani), and my idol.
