Before posting, please watch this video.

John Williams, pretty much the god of modern cinema soundtracks, has made a lot of great music. Now, if you had to choose ONE song made by him, and one song only, what would it be?

Yoda's Theme.

Agreed, the guy has some really iconic music. He wrote the theme songs for Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park as well. In fact, looking at his wikipedia page, I realise he has written so many musical scores that I just love, and he's won 5 Oscars. Awesome.

Can't say he's my favourite composer alive today, but he's certainly great, especially when it comes to melody.

Also, as an answer to your question, I would probably choose the Jurassic Park theme song.

I would have to say Duel Of The Fates from Episode 1. Say what you will about the movie, I still think this was the best lightsaber duel in the entire series for the choreography and its backing track. Play this and anyone will instantly know where it's from.

This. It's just so great.
It'll occasionally bring a tear to my eye, to be honest. In fact, I practically squealed with delight when we played a (very simple) arrangement of it in seventh grade orchestra.

This piece if just so full of emotion, and invokes a feeling of wonder in you when you hear it. The movie is still amazing, too. Too bad the sequels were so mediocre.

This one. I often tell people that Jurassic Park is my favorite movie that does not begin with "L', and the theme is a huge part of that. In games that allow you to give your character their own theme music, an excerpt from this is mine.

I'm always torn between John Williams and Hans Zimmer as best film OST composer (Howard Shore, Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Kamen are all good, but nowhere near the other two...).

As for best JW piece... there're a lot -

I'm sorry, fellas, but you're not suppose to call him John Williams anymore. He is patently referred to as "ME!" as per that one award acceptance speech.

Which one was that?

In other news, I just realized he also did the Tintin soundtrack. Dude's a badass.

Imperial March all the way.

It exponentially multiplies the badass rating of anything, including Darth Vader. And since big, black & gruesome is already unbearably badass just by being, that says something.

I'd have to consult my brother on that. I'll get back to you.

I'm gonna have to go with the Jurassic Park theme.

That film and everything in it made such a huge impact on my childhood.
