Takes the term flogging a dead horse to a whole new level.

How did they work this out, which one of Cash's descendents though the best way to honour the man in black was to put him in a video game?

Another bastion of artistic integrity falls, God bless Pink Floyd and Led Zeppilin is all I can say
Yeah, let's bless PF and LZ for holding onto some pretentious "hurr durr im TOO GOOD to be in a video game!" attitude. They're definitely to be admired, because everyone knows Guitar Hero destroys music... Er... Somehow.
So its pretentious to maintain creative control over your own output?. your essentially having a go at two of the best rock groups to have ever existed because they dont need the money enough to sell it to every commercial/video game. Its nice to know some artists (wherever you agree or disagree with their decision) have that level of integrity.

I never said Guitar hero destroys music, my point was that I dont think that if he was still alive Johnny cash would be signing up to get his likeness into a video game

That's great news, I love Johny Cash! I don't play Guitar Hero but getting more people to know his music is always a good thing.

ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!!

Now all we need is "Stairway to Heaven" and a Guitar Hero game with all Moody Blues music and we're set

I would agree if they were sacrificing any form of creativity. But, they're not. The music remains unchanged. The only thing that could be affected is their image.

EDIT: And, please, don't use "best" when describing any artist. Music is entirely subjective. There is no "best" artist.

I'm not wild about Mr. Cash, but Santana? Guitar Hero 5 just became slightly more interesting. I wouldn't mind grabbing a squeeky piece of plastic and thrashing (or so to speak) on Smooth.

Carlos Santana is awesome.

Awesome. Awesome to the max.

What should really be done is a dedicated country guitar hero. The I might actually be interested in the franchise :D
