Tim Burton and Johnny Depp?! Theres a combo I didn't expect to see.
When that equation stops producing fantastic movies, I'll start griping about how they work together too much.

Dark Shadows will be the latest in a long line of collaborations between Burton and Depp that stretches all the way back to the 1990 film Alice in Wonderland [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099487/], on which Burton is still finishing post-production work.
you forgot Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood and the Corpse Bride

should be interesting, i remember they tried to revive the show in the late 80s/early 90s but it failed

Making a soap opera into a 2 hour movie, I can see that working out great.

Burton and Depp, in my opinion it is so rare to find such a great partnership of actor and director. No matter what they always make very interesting films together, Depp has the right acting and pace to complement Tim Burton's strange yet brilliant directiorial skills.
This should be interesting, a return to gothic Vampires before the term 'gothic vampire' translated to 'teenage girls fantasy'

Yay! Sounds great. So what if they pair up a lot, their films are still great. I don't see why people see the need to whine, they haven't done one single bad movie yet. IT WORKS.

Dark Shadows is my favorite show ever made. I actually received another dvd set in the mail yesterday (I now own just under 400 episodes of the show). It's one of a kind. It is one of the very few horror based shows that didn't treat it's monsters as absolutes. Yes, Barnabus is a vampire. Yes, he kills people. But he hates himself for it.

To be honest, the Barnabus story line is one of my least favorites from the show. There is a woman who is the physical embodiment of the Phoenix. There is the antichrist story, the Lottery story, and even a whole story line done with a Cthulu cult. And this was all in the 60's.

However, Tim Burton is a hack, and he is going to ruin it.

I'll still go to see it.
