Join the Aliens vs. Predator Battle on The Escapist!

That game looks terribly bland. I got the HIGHLY RECOMMENDED "AvP Classic" on Steam. And it sucked...

It's not bad that I'm dissing a game heavily advertised on the Escapist, is it?

Though I'm not in the country eligible to win, I figured I'd join if only to show my Xenomorph support, and get a nice Aliens badge.
The rules say you can post your Escapist name on the Facebook page for 5 points, but... nobody has actually done that yet, have they?
Are you supposed to write a comment to a particular post on the main wall (I can't find anything about The Escapist), or is everybody supposed to just spam their name randomly whenever they feel like it?
(I don't actually use Facebook a whole lot, so that may very well be a stupid question.)

You can only get 5 points, and you only need to do it once. The points won't show up immediately, but will get added automatically later on - max wait would be a day, if you happened to be unlucky and post immediately after the updater runs.

Signed up. Saw the Twitter posts earlier (before I signed on...Team Predator, btw) but I don't get how we "attack". Do we just RT with the required bits once they say "GO"?

I did sign the FB fan-page, so I'll get my 5 points there, I imagine.

Thanks for your reply, but those were all the things I did understand already.
I didn't see any posts of of just names, which is what I understand we should make, so I was asking if anybody did that already.
Secondly, in my mind it would make sense to have one post on the main wall dedicated to The Escapist AVP game that people can comment on, adding their Escapist name.
If people need to create a whole new post, and can do that whenever they want (although early on is recommended), it would be harder to collect all the names, plus it would make the page look messy.
(I used the word "spam" before, but on hindsight I should have used the word "messy".)
Again, not much of a Facebook user, so excuse me if I completely misunderstand the idea.

Okay, now I see how the "ATTACK" thing works (since it's currently active as I post this.) Can we only RT once during the attack time for the credit or do we get credit for every time we RT?

...I'd assume only once otherwise it'd be a spam-fest at Twitter.

Doubt that you can, people would start bouncing over to the winning team a lot which would defeat the purpose of the competition.

Damn US only stuff Escapist skips us all again. Least I got a sweet alien badge out of it,... totally as good as a tv I get it though its better to be able to offer the US residents something extra than to not offer everybody the same when it cant be done.

Well, we should not complain, us Europeans might suffer some, but Australians get screwed over constantly. Banned games and late releases for them all the time.
