So, I've recently watched the 2012 anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, based on the hit manga of the same name, and I really liked it. Great story, interesting characters, classic explosive Shounen battles, etc. I'm currently reading Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, online, so it looks like I've have a lot read if the whole manga is eight parts by now.

I've been wanting to buy the manga series on Amazon (I know Viz's English version only covers Part 3, so don't worry about that), but for some reason (perhaps, because they're rare?), a few of the volumes are ridiculously expensive. So I might just buy volume 1.

I don't really know why I created this thread, since there might not be that much discussion value (unless people just want to talk about the series in general, without spoilers), but I just felt like sharing my experience.

I too am a fan of Jojo's Bizzare Adventure. I don't know why but I find the series refreshing for a shonen like series (I think the artstyle, plot and characters has something to do with it). I just love how exaggerate their reactions can get (when they are pissing themselve in fear, you can clearly see it)!

Not only that but the anime had a killer soundtrack and songs (the first openning has that 90's sort of anime music feel ot it and I didn't knew the ending song is in fact an old song that they decided to used it).

Since you had watched the anime, here is a comedy abridged version of it so I guess you will appricate it.

Here is the first one base on the ova but again you probably don't want to watched it as it cover part 3.

Heh it was actually thanks to that abridged series (Part 3) that I came to know about that series in the first place!

I fucking love Jojo's Bizarre Adventures. Got introduced to it because Matt and Pat from Two Best Friends kept quoting it and I got tired of being left out of the joke.

Anyway, if you're interested, there's more Jojo anime than just the 2012 one. The one from 2012 deals with the first 2 Jojo generations, Jonathan and Joseph, then there's a 3rd anime (an OVA) that deals with Jotaro, the 3rd Jojo, which was created in 2000, and another continuation of that generation in another OVA from 1993. So if you're interested in watching those, you need to watch all the animes in reverse order from when they were created (2012 first, then 2000, then 1993).

Or wait for David Production to do rest of the FABULOUS - they apparently have another project at present, but they shoot themselves on the foot if they don't animate at least Stardust Crusaders.

I'm so out of touch that I didn't realize there was a remake...I saw the original...or perhaps read the original manga...? Either way, I made it up to a certain point wherein a certain character who was thought to have died comes back. I really wanna get back into JJBA though, I remember liking it a lot: Like a more supernatural Fist of the North Star. I should also try tracking down the Dreamcast game...

Yeah, I know about those two, but I heard that they change a bunch of stuff from the manga, while the 2012 anime is quite faithful. So that's why I decided to follow manga scanlations instead.

I think that's Part 3. And yeah, I think I, as well as a lot of other people, would describe the character designs as glam rock crossed with Fist of the North Star, although even that wouldn't be giving it enough credit. I mean, look at this image of Joseph Joestar: http://static.minitokyo.net/downloads/24/09/555474.jpg?575333816

That's just fucking...bizarre. It's awesome.
