I've now found myself only watching CNN.

Fox is a little too right wing (+ hannity, who I, as a republican, despise and want to torture in various painful ways)

MSNBC has simply morphed into the left-wing version of Fox.

CNN still has some of both, so thats all I pay attention to.

But, now, I don't think I can anymore. They recently published an interview with the world-champion texter. I post the transcript below...

CNN: OMG U r ltrlly the wrld's bst txter. How does it feel?

Moore: It feels the best! Im so prd of myself & it feels aswm that ive gottn so far! :)

CNN: How mny txts do u snd a day? A month?

Moore: Uhhh about lyk 400-500 in a day, an avrg of 12014 thousand a month?

CNN: Wht r u going to do w the 50 k?

Moore: Idk yet! Prlly spend a good amount of the $$$......but ya gotta save some 2 b smart of course!

CNN: Do u ever get in trubl in skwl 4 txting 2 much?

Moore: haah just once or 2ce, teachers hv seen it and taken it away...lol that sux when that happens tho.

CNN: What's ur crzst txting story?

Moore: Haha I actually have a scar on my hand from txtingg....i was txting on the top bunk and I sat up cuz it was a cool txt and then I hit it in the ceiling fan

CNN. Do ur thumbs hurt?

Moore: Hahah not at all! Ud b surprised they don't get stressed out.

CNN: Kthxbi.

Moore: cya! :)
For some reason, this makes me want to die inside. CNN, thou hast forsaken me.

Ok so what is this all about? Is this about the girl winning this retarded contest, or about the people reporting on it?

All news media is biased in one way or another.

I tend to ignore most of it.

Funny thing about that...would the English speakers of a few hundred years past react with the same revulsion as we to to this text speak? Seems like the thing to hate, not because it's all that bad a method of putting information across (though at the moment it's not all that structured), but because we just don't get it or see it as an affront to english as it currently is.

I don't know either way, but I don't think it would be the awful thing everyone imagines if we all spoke like that.

If you like those (like myself) you should try The Onion that's a great source of "news".

You know that the USA is completly fucked up, when aparently the only reliable news show is a comedy show.

(The Daily Show.)

I mostly watch Fox News for entertainment, MSNBC nope because I don't have the channel, and besides, they are all but left wing. CNN, I don't care too much for.

Honestly, society tends towards liberalism, what's wrong with that?

That's sickening.
Proper spelling needs to live again.
That's why I send out texts with proper spelling and grammar. I'm hoping to change the world by being a good example.

The horror... the horror...
I couldn't read that. It's to late at night (Well early in the morning) to make heads or tails of it.

If I were you, I would change my title. The Escapist does gaming "journalism".

On topic: I still prefer the Internet or some canadians news.

Sorry but no. The whole of society tends towards conservatism? Things keep changing over and over again, including moral and religious values, just look at the course of history.

I'm sorry but there is just no going back. Even the term "conservative" has changed over time. A conservative of today would easily qualify as the liberal of yesterday.
