Bwahaha one of the best strips in awhile. This game has interested the hell out of me and as soon as I have some spare change I'll pick it up. How is it length wise? It looks and sounds spectacular and for 15 bucks I wouldn't feel too cheated if it were only a few hours long I'm sure I would be playing it more that once anyway.
It took me around 2 hours to complete. Although I spent a lot of time looking at all the pretty scenery and looking for shiny things to collect, so it could potentially take a lot less time to complete. Like Dark Souls, the game really shines when you play it online.

Ok I was really looking forward to Journey. The moment I heard about the concept and the fact that thatgamecompany was making it I was sold.

After this comic... I'm not going to lie, I'm a little apprehensive!

Haha, I laughed when I scrolled down the page to see who was the other player online. Even though this was funny indeed, I couldn't help but become curious about the game Journey. Maybe I will have to go check it out one way or another.
As the most jaded and soulless person I know I strongly recommend Journey because it made my little gamer soul melt as I danced across the desert with a stranger for an hour. Its beautiful and artsy without making you think about how artsy it is all the time. Unlike most art games its actually fun and relaxing, and you become emotionally attached to your companion without ever saying a word to eachother. Most importantly there is a tremendous sense of movement as you (and him/her) slide and fly about. Im gonna play over a few more times that's for sure!

I find it funny that you didn't mention Dear Esther in your list of "deliberately obtuse interactive experiences," but ok.

The first instant I saw the top of the image I thought of The Dark Tower somehow.
Damn, I need to play more games.

Firstly, MY EYES! I'll never look at Dr.Phil the same way again!!!!!
Secondly, I love the infamous games as well. (LBP2 is really good too)
Thirdly Ps3 came out in 2006
The amusing thing is i had no idea who he was until after i made the avatar. Just found this weird little dude thrusting away so i added an epic face for him to bang.
The inFamous games were soooo good... yet they've added so little DLC last time i checked.
Tis a shame. Also thanks :)

I went into the game completely blind and didn't realize there was a multi-player component. During the final level, my traveling companion was spotted by one of the snake monsters and was subsequently attacked.... and I flipped out. Not out of anger or frustration, but because I was genuinely afraid for his (or her) safety. It was a fantastic moment that made me realize just how attached I had grown to this person who was a complete and total stranger less than 2 hours ago. I didn't know anything about them, what they're favorite color is, what bands do they listen to, what their hobbies are, nor even a simple name to call them by, but I did know this.... we were in this together and neither of us was getting left behind.
