Right, I'm coming here for help because I'm at my wits end with this bloody thing.

I've just "inherited" my brothers Microsoft sidewinder force feedback 2 joystick, and it's telling me I need a new driver. I agree with this since the driver is listed as being made in 2001. However, I can't seem to find it anywhere....any ideas?

Update: The message reads "Your gameport or gameport drivers are not properly configured, pleased consult the device manager".

Just thought I'd add that.

Also, I would get this from Microsoft, but they're pretending it doesn't exist.

Since it's old it may be too out of date for a new driver to be found on the internet. If it's not on the Microsoft website then I think you may need to buy a more up to date joystick.

Hmm...I suppose so. The drivers must be hanging around on the net somewhere though.

Is there a seperate manufacturer of the joystick? Like another logo other than Microsoft's? If there is try their website 'cause its probable that they made the device, whereas Microsoft only designed it. The drivers could be on there.

Well, I had problems getting the same thing working on my Vista a while back and thought it was just a Vista issue. I finally gave up and bought some new logitech controllers.

I was thinking that it might work on XP, but from the links I have seen it requires Win 98,ME,2000. Maybe these links might help:
