Jumpgate Evolution: anyone interested?

For those of you that don't know, Jumpgate Evolution is a space based MMO that combines the twitch-based combat and ship control of games like Rogue Squadron with traditional MMO levelling and experience.

Is there anyone interested in this or that has signed up for the beta?

Looks interesting. It's been awhile since I have played a decent spaceflight sim/shooter. As an MMO though, what is encouraging PvP fighting? Is this leaning closer to EVE, where there are more tangible rewards for fighting and claiming territory? Or does this fall more towards a superficial take on PvP (ie fighting that has negligible impact on the game world as a whole)? Not that there is anything wrong with the latter, of course.

I have many more questions, but I'll keep it short and sweet and just leave it at the above question concerning the pvp.

...... the beta is out?! When did this happen? Why haven't i been notified of this?

Edit: Actualy on closer inspection of the website and wiki, It's not in open beta yet. It's in whats quoted as "Friends & Family" testing.

Ahh, damn, sorry, my mistake. I sort of assumed that since the beta sign up was open then the beta was too. I'll edit the title and OP.

I really don't know tbh... I think from the way the game seems to be set up, with the focus on piloting ability, that it's unlikely to have the very open political possibilities of EVE's PVP, although I may be wrong completely: I am just assuming.

Yeah the Beta sign-up thing has been out since last year. Nothing on news threads as to when they will open it up.

Will you run around as a person as well in this game?
If they do that stuff to the same caliber as the space stuff looks, I will take a serious look at this game, because it looks awesome so far.
