Of the exclusives you mentioned, yeah, this one. Wasn't really my thing, but it was way better than Prototype, albeit less schadenfreude-tastic.

Folklore- not well known game made by the smae person who invented the SMT series, its like pokemon but with more detail (one of the best looking games on the system, not graphiclly but presentation) and story (decent murder mystery story at that)

Congratulations for the new PS3! I would say the originals that you shouldn't miss are basically two: Demon's Souls and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

From the Playstation Store I would recommend Trash Panic and Zuma.

Given that Sony dictates you give up your legal rights in order to access the PSN (or whatever they call it now) including for mandatory software required game updates to be able to play games youve purchased (some) and all the other sphinctery behavior Sony has engaged in recently I say take it back.


However I doubt that will deter, so I guess demons Souls (lol like multiplayer is a relevant factor) and fat princess should do. Honestly for me personally Demon's Souls was enough to get me to buy the console.... twice.

It's the exact same agreement that Microsoft uses for XBOX Live. The difference? The cannot be sued clause came in on 360 first.

But it does not make a difference if its XBL or PSN. The mere fact that it exists and has yet to be overturned as illegal despite some half hearted response that actually did more harm than good is complete bullshit and should not have been allowed in the first place. Every user of any platform be it PSN, XBL, origin, etc should have immediately ceased using that service until that provision was removed. It would have taken an entire weeks worth of concerted effort by gamers, but, gamers seemingly have no interest in protecting their own rights or interests. So because there is no consensus thanks to the "Well, I dont intend to sue them, so it doesnt effect me so why should interrupt my entertainment?" crowd any sort of resistance to this will now be extremely long and drawn out and involving extensive and costly litigation.

Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles.

Two great games.

Demons souls is a bad call unless he can complete it before the end of may, which is when the servers shut down.

On topic. One that always gets over looked is motorstorm, great racing games that start off easy and slowly get to a point where it is near impossible about half way through (well for me who is bad at racing games).

Resistance is another good series of games, I can't remember the first too well but the second was awesome (had great online co op, probably still does) and I haven't touched the third but it looks good and I doubt they changed much.

I'm currently playing Twisted Metal, it's so much fun, a real fan service.

Just seems like the system gets passed up a lot these days. I'm sure the people that have them love them, but I would never trade my Xbox for one.

I don't get it. The third party games are identical and the PlayStation has infinitely better exclusives.

I'm sorry, but this is just flat out wrong. The only way there could be little to no difference is if you either have a poor quality and/or badly tuned TV, watched bad blu-ray tranfers, have bad eyesight normally so the world looks a bit smeary to you no matter what, or have a poor quality blu-ray player (the last one being unlikely since we're talking about PS3s, which are still one of the better ones on the market.)

If you have good quality equipment which is tuned properly and film transfers that properly benefit from blu-ray, the difference is quite significant. This is not debatable, this is fact. That said, there are many bad blu-ray transfers out there so the results can vary quite drastically and you'll likely find more bad than good unless you carefully research as a lot of companies are hoping for a lazy cash in, but the ones that use it correctly benefit a lot.

Keep in mind this is coming from someone who used to believe much the same thing, however after I got a Plasma TV and did a good amount of research I gave it a shot on a couple specific movies and was very surprised at how wrong I was. I also assumed that only newer films could benefit from it, but bizarrely enough there are some older films that put many newer blu-ray releases completely to shame. (An example being the original Alien, specifically, which looks incredibly detailed.) For that matter, I'm not even a very visual-oriented person to begin with. Of everyone I know, I pay the least attention to it and I lean a lot more toward audio overall. However, even I have to admit that a good blu-ray under the right conditions can look extremely good.

I think it's real this time and that's sad... However, anyone interested in Demon's Souls should not dismiss it just because the servers are going down. 95% of the game is single player anyway and you can still play the game offline regardless of whether the servers are up or not, the only thing you will miss out on is the Coop, PVP, and warning messages from players on the floor.
