Ipod Touch from a buddy of mine because the earbud jack is messed up so he just bought a new one and sold me his for $40. Now its in perfect condition besides the jack problem and i was wondering if thats something that can be repaired by someone and if so how much would it cost? Any estimates and answers would be appreciated! Thanks!

Easiest solution is to take it to your nearest Apple store and ask them - if it's out of warranty it wouldn't be free, but even if you didn't take up their offer they could give a good indication of whats wrong and whether its actually fixable.
Absolutely no idea, sorry. I suspect it probably will run to more than the $40 you paid, but you haven't actually lost out unless the cost of repair combined with the $40 is more than the cost of a new iPod.
Also try and find out what might actually be wrong - even if it's something like the jack needs cleaning somehow they'll probably still charge the same fee.
