I bought it, having played it and thinking "OH MY GOD THIS IS AWESOME!" After 5 days, I was bored out of my tree, doing the exact same missions and finding the same collectibles.

The repetition was painful, and there was barely any reward, other than upgraded weapons which you use to grind more money to upgrade your weapons which you use to play strongholds to get more money to buy more weapons to grind more AAAAAARGH

So yeah. Traded it in for Mass Effect 2. It probably would have been more fun if I'd given it more of a chance, but I've never been more bored by a game.

the game is really fun, a bit repetitive sometimes, but if you like to blow just about everything up, then it is the game for you!

Hey Escapists! I've been playing the Just 'Cause 2 demo, and I really like it. It's intense. And I was wondering, for owners of the full game, if it's the same experience?

Please answer in great detail.

Lets put it this way

My friend has this game. I have played it twice around his

I have had more fun in those two sessions than with entire games. The madness, the hilarity and the general "WOW, KABOOM, SWISH *BANG BANG* KABOOOOOM AWESOME YEAH BANG" of it all is just brilliant.

It is exactly the same as the demo... the whole way through... i.e. it never changes.

So it's fun to dip into every once in a while but once the initial excitement is gone it gets tedious.

Yeah, it's a blast. It's utterly insane, and the amount of shit you can blow up is unreal. It does, however, suffer from the same failings as Mercenaries and RF:Guerrilla. The blowing up of stuff is fun, don't get me wrong, but it's pretty much all there is to do so if you've played the game for an hour then you've pretty much played the whole thing.

Don't make the same mistake I did. I bought it cause I was desperate and ended up selling it cause it didn't do enough things right. Yahtzee was right though. It does take a lot of effort to make destruction that boring.

Depends how much fun you have doing point crazy sh*t. Also I recommend the PC version for that mod that lets your hook shot become unbreakable. I had around 50 hours... but then my video card melted D:

Its a good game, and doesnt take itself too seriously. However, the gameplay gets soooo repetitive. It can really drag on.

I had a lot of fun with it, but at the same time, I didn't play it in one stretch. It gets repetitive sometimes.

I played the demo and enjoyed it. Then I bought the full game and hated it.

The full game is basically just the demo repeated about 30 times over.

...

Also, when I think of Just Cause 2, I think of the worst voice acting to ever come my way. No, really. If you think Bolo Santosi sounds bad, just wait till you encounter Tom Sheldon.

only if you dont take the initiative and mix it up a bit.

sick of ground assaults? skydive from a high helicopter of crash a plane into the base.

sick of shooting? use explosives and the hookshot.

sick of blowing stuff up? do stunts in your car/plane/helicopter or go hunting for secrets.

It's surprisingly fun in small phases. At first it's awesome and you go on a massive rampage and abuse the fuck out of the grapplehook and parachute, then it gets boring.
Then you sort of dig into the details and hunt for easter eggs and fast vehicle locations and whatever else, and the missions actually start being quite fun :D

I know the tricks of the Just Cause trade, but what I'm saying is that although there are many ways of blowing stuff up you still end up blowing stuff up. I know how you take down an enemy base is up to you, but after that your next mission is to blow up another base. And then another, and then another, and then another etc.

I like the game, I really do, but what I'm saying is it can get a little repetitive.
