Sorry, but consoles can't even claim greater diversity anymore, maybe in the very early days, but the indie market on the PC is booming, there are games to fill every niche. Some leak onto consoles, and some come from console to PC, but frankly the latter are mostly platformers.Kipiru said:Power has never been the consoles' strong point- PCs take that top. Consoles are about the stability of hardware that the game developers can grow accustomed with and concentrate on gameplay, rather than graphics. PCs will forever have better visuals, and consoles greater diversity in games. I don't see that changing for as long as we use the terms Gaming Console and Personal Computer.
All consoles have is price, they're cheaper, and you know they can run what you want, and may even like a few of their exclusives, and that is quickly changing as PC hardware gets cheaper, and consoles get more expensive. And even then, with patience, I can emulate all the exclusives I want ON my PC.
I fail to see an argument for consoles beating PCs in any sense. Even when it comes to affordability, that's short term, as the games cost upwards of £40 for new titles, on the PC it's half that for most games.
