Just finished Beyond Good & Evil.

Was a really fantastic and surprisingly good game, even after I'd been hearing for years that it was underrated it still took me by surprise. I can definitely see some of the flaws there but it didn't stop it being a great experience and honestly one of the best games I've ever played (I own about 90 PS2 games alone).

The ending sucked though, cheap boss fight and sudden ending, with a weak cliffhanger after the credits (wrap the damn story up if you know a sequel isn't guaranteed yet). Can't wait for the sequel to come out, hope it'll be just as great.

Beyond Good and Evil is a great game.
I got it on Steam during the Christmas sale for around $5, and if I knew how good it was I would've gladly paid full price.

I paid ten dollars for it on Good Old Games. Best ten dollars I ever spent.

Okay, maybe not... the best I spent was on a slot machine that won me back $230, but I really enjoyed the game.

I got it for 7 bucks (Australian) brand new from an EB sale a little while back and only played it the other day for the first time. I agree that if I had of known how good it was then I would've bought it years ago.

It seems to me I'm one of the few thousands of people who bought it for the original price (130 PLN at the time of release, more or less $50). One of the best games I've ever played. The only reason I haven't finished it yet is because my CD is broken and music/voices are broken too... Gotta download it finally from Steam. Oh, yeah, bought it on Steam too.

Beyond Good and Evil is so underated. It is a shame that so many gamers have never played this gem of a game.

This is one of those 'great' games that for some reason, I never really liked.

I just couldn't get through it. Even my best friend thought it was absolutely fantastic, but it never drew me in.

That said, I really do see how it could be great. I guess it just wasn't a good chemical-fit for me

It's unheard of. I assume that is what was meant.

Despite it's lack-of-fame, it does seem to crop up in all of those "Best Games you've Never Heard Of" lists.

it's grown up to be a cult classic. gaming cult.

so barely any mainstreamers have even heard of it.

I concur. I did enjoy the game. I have not finished it, though. I had played the demo and then rented it but only got as far as the race you're supposed to do. I was a bit stuck then but had to return it at that point. I should buy it proper and finish it as I did enjoy it up to that point. If more games were like this one, I would be happier with the current games market.

Awesome game! I agree with you, though, the ending was weak. I'm still waiting for them to come out with BG&A 2. That looks fun.
