PROBABLY LOTS OF SPOILERS AHEAD

I absolutely loved it, it took me a little while to get into it but after awhile I saw why the game was so loved, it's an amazing achievement in gaming. I had finished the first one a couple of years ago but I didn't recall a lot of the smaller details. Luckily I was fine with everything in the 2nd. I played the PS3 version and did all the side missions, explored planets etc. I only lost Jack in the final Assault, I think it may have been due to Samara not being loyal, she was the only one I didn't get to loyal status due to failing her mission. Also the Normandy crew all died, guess I should've hurried up and gone to their rescue instead of fucking around for awhile doing side missions >_>

Also, is Arrival worth buying? Where does it fit into the game? I heard it bridges the gaps to ME3 so does it pop up after you've finished the main game or?

Sorry if this topic is a bit pointless. Just wanted to get it out somewhere :p

Also I played Infiltrator, with a male, Paragon... Finished at Level 29 (so close, bah). I was a little annoyed I couldn't get all the upgrades in the game and do a "100%" job with it. But I understand why they designed it that way. I look forward to doing a 2nd playthrough in the future. Is it better to keep the same character or start a new one?

Depends.

Finished the game like 5 times, getting all in all, about 200 hours of gameplay.

Arrival bridges the events, yes. But it's not the best one IMO. Best one is Lair of The Shadow Broker. Very good story.

Didn't notice when u can pop it as, becouse i finished ME2 and strarted playing the DLCs. And the game noticed that aswell, so that's a nice attention to detail. :)

Shadowbroker, Overlord and Arrival all worth it imo if you're really into the story. Shadowbroker is definitely the best however. There are some events and such in the other 2 however that seem like they will impact events in 3 so my suggestion is to try it.

all story DLC is def worth it! arrival was little underwhelming but still ok! shadowbroker is a MUST BUY. Played through game 4 times and strangely enough never let my crew die. coz i do all side stuff before collecting reaper's shit so it's don't advance main story line and i can complete everything all loyalty missions+sidestuff and then just end game.

I'd say Overlord has the best story of all the DLC, but Shadowbroker is the most substantial (with some nice goodies about your squadmates at the end), and Arrival is a neat little diversion. So if you have the money, I'd get all of them.

Arrival is the worst of the story DLC Bioware has released, by a lot. However, it does tie in to ME3, so if you want to know what went down, you should probably get it. Also, I played through the game five times, the last three I got through with everyone alive and well. It's a really simple formula once you have it down. Protip: acquire, the DLC packs (Lair of the Shadowbroker, Overlord, Kasumi) and do them. It will net you enough money to get all of the upgrades in the game, minus the mining ones or the ones you miss. I know I missed the pistol upgrade in thanes mission the first two times I did it.

Arrival is best played after you beat the game. To me, at least.

Arrival is the worst DLC but it's essential to the story.

I wouldn't say it's terrible or anything, but it lacks the coolness, challenging combat and the "WOW" factor of Lair of the Shadowbroker and doesn't compare to the great story and atmosphere of Overlord.

Lair of the Shadow Broker is excellent. Best bit of DLC I ever bought.

Overlord is pretty good.

Arrival is... kinda bad. But it does have some important story in it.

Congratulations, it is a great game. But the only two dlc you need is the arrival, and shadow broker. Since those carry over into Mass Effect 3.

Wow, literally everyone is recommending lair of the shadow broker. But it's 800 microsoft points which is about a tenner. I paid that for the entire game.

I'm very intrigued by it though as everyone says it's so good...

OT: I was amazed by ME2 as well. I only completed it a few days ago too with my squad intact (after a couple of crafty retries to make sure Mordin survived.) can't wait til 3

Just to let everybody know, I'm on the PS3.

So I have all the DLC except for Arrival which was released afterwards. I did it all while I was playing the main game :3

Sorry if I didn't phrase it properly in the OP, probably from saying I'd played the first on the 360 awhile ago.

Arrival is 11.45 (Australian dollars) on the store here. I think that's worth it, since it's the only thing I don't have in the pack. How long is it? What makes it kinda meh compared to the rest?

My main problem is that it's absolutely riddled with plot holes. Not little unimportant ones either, but the kind of great big gaping plot holes that you drive a truck through.

As for length... it's about one and a half, maybe two hours.

The good:

-It's more Mass Effect
-It has Lance Henriksen in it

The bad:

-It's short. It'll probably only take about 2 hours to beat, tops.
-Story wise, it doesn't really add a whole lot other than 'zomg reapers - coming in 2012'

I mean, it isn't terrible or anything, but it's definitely not as good as the other DLC.

"It has Lance Henriksen in it"

Well, looks like I'll be buying it then... I love Lance Henriksen.

When I buy some PSN store credit I'll have enough money left over for LIMBO after I get Arrival, so that's a plus.

Thanks for the tips everyone.
