I just got the first Torchlight and I was wondering what class I should play? I have lots of rpg experience, but I've never played torchlight or diablo before so I'm not sure what I should go with.

Well, any class can use any weapon, but it's a bit more restrictive than TL2, so you should probably stick to what your class is good at.
Destroyer using melee weapons, alchemist using wands, that woman with guns whose class I've forgotten using guns. Maybe look at a few online skill trees and think what you want to make.

If you like being up close and personal, go Destroyer.
If you like summoning and long range beams of death energy, go Alchemist.
If you like firearms, go Vanquisher.
Whatever you pick, just be sure to bump up the difficulty and turn on permadeath.

I'd recommend one playthrough without permadeath just so you can see everything the game has to offer. My favorite part about Torchlight is the art design -- there's some really great-looking environments and awesome creatures to see and kill.King of Asgaard said:
