I'm all for the idea in the OP. Completely without irony. If you're making a sex fantasy, make a goddamn sex fantasy, and make it unbiased by gender or sexual orientation.

People have been trying passive aggressively to morph their fantasy worlds into an outlet for their frustrated libidos for SO long that I kind of just want someone to get it over with. Truly and honestly so that we can just get it out of our collective systems and get on with our lives for God sakes.

I'm tired of the echoes of some repressed guy's erotic fantasies invading an otherwise perfectly enjoyable/immersive game. Especially when he's demonstrably in the minority and his condition could easily be solved with a few quick porn site suggestions. I'm the kind of person who wants all (or as many as possible) options on the table.

Give the men (see the high elf males in that game) and women some kinky super sexualized outfits. Also give them some appropriate badass outfits to wear. Something in between would be really nice too.

Having seen some of the later outfits in Tera the appropriate badass ones exist but they are a minority.

Fair enough if they were the only race in the game, a measure of a good game in my eyes is one that gives players choice. If players want to dress up as some demonic succubus lookin' thingies they can, if they want to play as a generic armored person dojur they can, if they want to play as a pubescent neko girl then we can just alert the authorities.

Also, what the hell is with all the suggestions to "Look at porn if you want tittilation"? Just staring at T&A is boring and unstimulating. It's also anti-cerebral and completely uncreative. A mostly-nude woman is completely bland. However, a mostly-nude woman that can kill demons, kick ass, and look good doing it is FAR more interesting. Also, you get to see them move in ways that don't really show up in pornos or exotic dancing.

However, I don't find any of what TERA wants to consider "Sexy" to actually be so. That Diablo 3 female barbarian, the Panther Women from Diablo 2, and a lot of other armors from World of Warcraft (Especially from TBC)... those looked nice, because while skimpy, they keep the "Warrior" vibe instead of trying to mimic fetish gear. Except maybe the Panther Women's corsets...

And what the hell is with the fascination with "high-heels"? They look absolutely terrible, and make the woman's resulting pose really, really awkward.

One of the lesser points of Fantasy is to use it as an outlet for sexual/erotic fantasies, even by well-respected Fantasy and Sci-fi authors such as Robert Jordan(Wheel of Time and it's "Naked people are powerful. Show us your power"), George RR Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire), Roger Zelazny (Chronicals of Amber and Dilvish the Damned have some memorable sequences), Gene Roddenberry(Star Trek), Robert A Heinlan, George Lucas, Piers Anthony, Terry Pratchett, and Douglas Adams. To be fair, if anyone wants to dress their character like that, they can go for it, I really don't care. As for me, I think it's stupid mainly because the whole point in armor is to protect you from being murdered quickly and I think it's impractical, and not so much because of the whole sexuality thing. I just won't be playing it because of that.

Now, if the whole game entire game was like that and didn't take itself seriously at all, then I would be totally fine with it and I might play it.

My problem with Tera is that getting the non hyper seuxalized armor is a task. One you will not be able to complete until much later in the game when you have the gold.

For reference, you can remodel your armor by buying templates. Most gender-race-class combos have templates that are appropriate (by my standards anyway). However, you won't be able to afford them until level 40 or later.

I like having options. My Castanic Sorcerer is slutting it up. However, I want a different look for my Human Slayer (something along the lines of Hawke's signature armor from DA2) that's just not possible to get right now.

I personally don't mind the whole bikini mail thing, as long as it's not my only option. If people want to walk around in metal bikinis, then by all means do so. Just don't force me to do the same.

I want my armour to, y'know, look like actual armour.

Here's the thing though. Her armour still leaves the left arm and right thigh conveniently exposed. It's like they're screaming "cut me off!" Not to even mention the exposed chest, which happens to make that particular barbarian all the more vulnerable to arrows to the chest.

Thing is though that the Barbarian class for the Male also doesn't wear that much armor from what I saw. The upper chest is completely bare almost save for a few leather straps that go across the chest like some BDSM fetish.

Barbarians in general have weird fashion sense.

eh, I'm whatever about it, women and men can be as idealized physically as extremely as they want to make em, but it's the further objectification such as giving them no personality or strenght (or in this case OPTION to make her reasonably dressed) that gets me.

I don't mind boobs, hell I think the human body, male or female to be a beautiful thing that no one should be ashamed of, but it's kind of ridiculous when you can ONLY play as borderline porn actresses wearing iron thongs and nipple covers for armor, ARMOR, you're fighting giant monsters in a bikini, and while thats catarthic and sort of badass in it's own right, it's not practical, it's unnecessarily sexualized, and it adds nothing to anything besides a legion of sweaty fat hard-ons for the sterotypical mmo demographic of lonely cheetos munching boys.

I know many female players don't mind it, many girl gamers dug bayonetta even though she was so ridiculously sexualized. She was both feminine and strong, sexuality can be used positively, it can be one of the characters strenght instead of an excuse for the developers to model and animate giant tits and ass.

It's a different situation with an MMO player though, there usually isn't a character there to be strong other than physically, there isn't a shepard, there isn't a bayonetta, just physcial appearance, and the actions you take.

Obviously though, this falls on the marketing-to-male-teenagers side rather than the sexuality-as-a-character-trait side, look at how they're dressed, the seducing look in their eyes, the revealing position of the characters in this OP's photo, they're offering themselves to the viewer; it's like it's ripped straight out of a fantasy themed porno perody, not an mmo.

I saw GiantBomb's quicklook, the clothing options were almost non-existant, and they brought up a good point, why not have two versions of the equipment, one revealing and sexy, and one covered up and practical?
