I appreciate Bladerunner for what it is - a pretty good movie that provided an aesthetic dictionary for a host of subsequent science fiction films (at least of the dystopian variety).
Actually, I'm going to buck the trend and say that a remake wouldn't need to be horrible - although said remake would need to be an independent film by a off-beat director (perhaps that Natali fellow who just did Splice?)
