So I don't like Dark Souls, but recently I decided to it another shot, but I ran into a game breaking bug when I tried to go after the Cloranthy ring, since I didn't have too much health I couldn't drop to it all of the way inside the tree, so I decided to just drop onto the tree, then the ring, but when I did that I landed in between two parts of the broken off tree top, and now I can't move from that spot, I can run, jump, and roll, but the character simply doesn't move, I can't even use items (I push X and nothing happens, I can open the inventory but can't change anything in it), and because quit doesn't put you at the nearest bonfire there's literally no way for me to leave that part of the tree, that character's just stuck there forever now.

So I've been considering deleting the save data, the patch data, and just using the infinite souls glitch that used to be in the game to rebuild my character and get them back to where they were without having to farm forever, what do you think of this and is there any game where you think you can fairly cheat?

Do you plan to invade other people and grief them with your massive level? If not. Then do whatever you want.
Not at all, even if I did I'd only build up my character to the one that got glitched, so even if I did go online it wouldn't really make a difference.

It's not cheating, it's playing the game on your own terms.

Except in multiplayer. It's cheating there. And cheating in multiplayer is terrible.

But basically, in singleplayer, anything goes as long as you want it to go.

I did the same in Skyrim (kinda) with the Oghma Infinium glitch.
Simply because I wa level 74 and wanted to take on the Ebony Warrior, but he doesn't appear till your level 80.
I wouldn't use it to build a chracter really quickly, but getting my character from 70 to 74 took weeks of playtime...too much grinding!
