Personally, I suck at FPS games. I simply get disoriented as I'm playing a character that has no peripheral vision and I can't see what's going on around me. If someone calls me out on it I kindly ask if they could possibly show me the ropes. More often then not they'll help me out and show me some tricks or help me to understand where everything is on the multiplayer maps. Hell, I don't care if they want to use me as a decoy to take out the other team. I just want to help out and have some fun, not be a ball and chain. It's not fun for me to ruin the fun for someone else, if it's a serious server I'll leave and find one a bit more 'loose'.

Sometimes other players will make fun of me and call me a n00b, but I am one so it doesn't bother me. Apparently they made a tube just for me :D

If you're playing a racing sim and you suck though... it's also ok. As long as you're not crashing into everyone on purpose, then all is good. We were all n00bs at some point.

There's nothing wrong about sucking at a game.

Looking down on someone for being bad at a game, well that's just being a dick.

I play multiplayer games casually (in comparison to the crazy people). I don't mean that I play "casual games" or that I'm a "casual gamer", I just don't care if I lose when I play multiplayer (in really anything that's a game, video game or not). I play games because they're fun to play, not because I'm good at them, or because I often win at them. I get no satisfaction from "pwning n00bs" all the time (which I can do in some games).

So, in response to your question OP, the justification is that they're playing for the reason that people SHOULD be playing games.

What irritates me is my friend's friend was trolling/cheating/bug abusing on Xbox Live and I report him and he gets banned. When he gets unbanned him and all my former friends blame me saying I'm the jerk for reporting him. Well, sorry I'm trying to make Xbox Live a better place.
Yeah I hate this too. Cheaters online annoy me to no end.

Ever think maybe they're new with the game/character?

Try phrasing your critique as suggestions for improvement rather than "omgwtfbbq so n00b"

Just the other week I found my friend never really played platformers, never had a SNES. So I fired up the emulator to some Super Mario World. He sucked, but it was the most fun we've had in a while. My only regret is that I didn't record it. Well, I was too busy rewinding the savestates :p
Then I showed him the first three jumps in Kaizo Mario World on youtube :D

People like that are what ruin online gaming.

Kudos to you.

I played the old fallout games and always "role played" as an idiot savant, and absolutely loved it theres something to be said about turning off your brain and just having fun. That said i think there are a lot of modern games which are designed for the complete moron. I'm sure this will offend a lot of people but GTA: 3 kinda started this whole idiotism thing with its death has little consequence so do what you want. and its fun. Halo (correct me if im wrong but it seemed to be the turning point) has also started the "regenerating health revolution". this sense of being able to absorb massive amounts of damage and then regrow an arm by hiding behind a rock.
There isnt anything wrong with being bad at a game though, and alot of people dont care about improvement they just want to have fun.

I don't really mind people who suck, because they can lead to funny situations and screw-ups. Also, I like helping them out and being kind of a mentor.

However, I can't stand the inattentive morons who don't seem to care that they're screwing me over repeatedly, which, if I'm reading your post correctly, is what you're referring to. A good example being the sniper on my team who couldn't figure out that when TK is on, you should only shoot enemies in the head and not also allies who've managed to get to the enemy side of the map during capture the f'ing flag. After every death, I told him to stop sniping me, but he just wouldn't listen. I had 8 deaths that match and 5 were by the guy on my team.
The next game, I walked up behind him with my pistol and popped him execution style before informing him that I would kill him twice for every time he killed me.

Well... I figure that it's damn-nigh impossible for anyone to be near my skill level in anything sooo I've come to accept the fact that some people just really suck at games...

Say that the action justifies the means. Sure, I slaughtered the village and robbed their corpses and homes, but it's not like they were gonna use it since it was just sitting there! In fact... wait, what? OOH! I thought you meant being "bad" like evil. My bad.

Being bad as an excuse? Bad is the wrong word. Inexperienced perhaps, but not bad. Bad is when you don't know the basic controls. Inexperienced is when you know the controls but you just suck at the game.
To use an old stand-by example, Hide and Seek. A bad player doesn't know how to play the game whereas an inexperienced player knows the rules but can't hide for jack shit.
