1. Classic rock, folk, a bit of glam rock - I like to think I have a diverse range of musical tastes but I tend towards rock music and the pre-post-grunge period.
2. He's Canadian, a boy, started on YouTube .... not that much really. And everybody REALLY seems to hate him.
3. Meh! Nothing I claw to change the channel on, I don't pause to listen to a song of his if I catch during channel surfing. Basically, a blank slate for me.

Agree 100%. I don't have any strong opinions about the guy myself, he's no-one important and will soon fade from relevance. Only to be replaced by someone equally unimportant and annoying.

I'm going to guess no. I despise autotune, never heard a boy-band song I liked... technically the latest version of "pop music" I could be considered a fan of was recorded before I was born (early 70s).
That said, I've never heard a song by the kid... and I don't want to.

The following is a list of people who annoy me far more then Justin Bieber does:

1. People who hate him. No matter what, he has done nothing to deserve actual hate.
2. People who make jokes about him being a girl/sucking at life. None of those jokes are funny anymore. They have gone the way of fictional cakes, cats with bad grammar skills, and skateboarders injuring their genitalia.
3. People who know that the jokes are no longer funny, but make them anyway at the expense of the people described above, and people like me who are just sick of hearing about Justin Bieber.

I have no favorite genre: I like a mishmash of Classical, Baroque, Rock (classic and progressive), Jazz, Reggae, Punk, and Metal. I prefer instrumental pieces over songs. Might as well add gaming OSTs to that list now too.

IMO, Bieber is a bland performer whose entire musical career hinges on other people doing all the composition and stage work prep-work for him. He sings badly-written and poorly composed generic Pop-shit, relies on autotune (like everyone on else on the fucking pop-stations, natch), and remains inexplicably popular because the tween masses love him.

Whatever. Good for him. I don't listen to him if I can possibly avoid it (autotune introduces this obnoxious buzzing twinge that I cannot stand), and I don't really give a toss about him otherwise.

Besides, I've met and heard far more talented musicians than him in real life; people who are far better musicians than he is likely to ever be. I'll stick with listening to them if I can help it.

But the thing about child pop stars is that they grow up and the music industry doesn't have the talent or patience to re-brand them to ensure a long-term career. They'll find someone new and Bieber will be left on his own to see if he hasn't been sapped of all talent.
