I want a game where you can be completely neutral, the Han Solo type. The type of person that is only concerned with how much they can benefit, but they are not a baby eating, puppy kicking saturday morning cartoon villain.
I think thief 2 gives you the option of helping either of the two factions or saying bugger off and going off to steal shit... thats about as close as it gets I think.
Also
in Fable 2 you are given the option at the end to get you loved ones back, all who died in the making of the evil spire constructed of evil or something like that, or a boatload of money.
Mass Effect is one of the best "gray" games to date, which gives you a gun, a mission, and sits on the sidelins drumming its fingers, waiting to see what you do. It doesn't judge you; it just lets you do you thing and tell you the results at the end.
That sounds like a really biased statment. You say that Falliut 3 takes away the fun of being evil because you are ultimantly good. Mass Effect was exactly the same. No matter how much renegade you have, or how little paragon you have, you will be a good guy and stop the Reapers. Besides, the only real "evil" actions you can choice is killing someone unnessessary, or smack talking to someone in a very rude way.
