"Allegedly," Kate Middleton, yes, THAT one of Royal Family fam, posted a picture of herself and her children on social media for Mother's Day. Well, some keen-eyed sleuths noticed a couple of spots where the photo may have been edited. This led to Photoshop experts “around the world” to find more than a dozen points where the photo had been altered. A dozen!! Can you imagine the scandal?!? And over the past two days, news of this egregious misconduct caused such a ruckus, that Middleton posted a public apology, but is it too little too late?!? A picture has since been taken of the side of her face as she rides in a car with Prince William leading everyone around the globe to wonder: “what ELSE is she hiding??”

Yes, I'm aware of the absurdity of posting this in the Current Events forum to align with the complete absurdity that this is "news" at all. I know I’ve asked this before, but what is everyone’s obsession with every niggling detail of the Royal Family’s lives?? More importantly, why is something so entirely innocuous and inconsequential making news? I mean had she tried to photoshop herself, I dunno, facilitating peace talks between Israel and Gaza to pass it off as a real thing, sure, let’s talk about it, but a family photo??

Can anyone closer to this “news” please explain why every time a Royal farts, the media wants to sniff the wind to scrutinize their diet?

The media is owned by the same sort of people who are selling of the bits of the UK that they haven't set fire to. Any sort of distraction from the former is useful.

Y'know what's wild? The amount of people here in Ireland who give a shit. Like I know I'm a Republican and feel more strongly about this than a lot of people but if there's any country that should collectively think "fuck the British monarchy"... Well actually that's a lot of countries, but we should have been thinking it the longest.

Like my ex's mam, when Prince Philip died, asked me "God, isn't it very sad?" And just no. No it wasn't. He A.) Was bastard. B.) Lived a life of unimaginable luxury. C.) Lived until 99! What more could he possibly have gotten from life?

Oh, you might get some arguments there.

But yeah, people going on about royalty being somehow superior...especially in republics. Bah.

And...if we all really cared about the monarchy, why hasn't something been done about the qanon woman claiming to be the rightful queen of Canada? That's the sort of treason that used to result in armies being raised.

A lot of sardonic statements, but no one has directly addressed how this is even an issue at all. At least State-side we have an ex-president facing dozens of charges regarding felonious activity who's a real candidate to win the next presidential election; why is a photoshopped family photo shared only on social media even a thing let alone a big enough thing to garner international attention and scrutiny? I mean, is Photoshop somehow linked to Satanic worship in the UK or something? Give me something to chew on, because as it stands, it's just a mom who cleaned up a family photo of her and her children and posted it on social media for Mother's Day... NONE of that screams "we need to look into this." If there's any chance her children have been strapped into the the back seat of a car at the bottom of the Thames since May of last year, then yeah, let's talk about her Photoshop skills and how they're being used to propagate a lie that she didn't kill her kids. But as long as the kids' well-being is not in question, let a mom clean up a boo-boo or two and idealize her kids.

It's just funny that in an era where 99.9% of pictures posted on social media are altered or have filters used, and NO ONE is who they seem to be; the fix is only in when it's a member of the Royal Family doing the same, innocuous shit. I really don't get it, and it's only made worse that media outlets won't shut up about it without contextualizing why, in any way, shape, or form, it might be significant.

Jesus Christ pedaling his bike to Mass on a Sunday this species collectively needs to get a hobby.

I think the most ludicrous argument I've heard is "the Royal Family has an impact on government affairs and therefore altering a photo is hiding information the public deserves to know", which fuck that shit.

First mistake there is allowing it to occupy the consciousness beyond a depressed chuckle at a headline or two before moving on to more deserving or interesting matters of attention.😉

I think the UK needs more guns. Maybe a few mass shootings might distract from the pearl-clutching scandal of Photoshopped Mother's Day photos. Take it from the bastard son in the US; we can show you how to make some real, consequential news. Maybe then poor Kate can blur out a pimple or two for her Christmas card photos.

It should be noted that raw sewage is being dumped into the water along England's coasts, and people are having to choose between groceries or heating their homes as the economy gets steadily worse for anyone who isn't in charge of the economy.

It’s little wonder Harry and Megan left it all. If they’re scrutinizing shit like this, just imagine what they went through. The Royal Rota is a vampire.
