Okay, here's the game people.

You'll notice if you're in the practice of watching the news that certain stories develop and are added to as the week wears on. Journalists and news outlets will do this because the groundwork has been done on the story and it's an easy way to fill in some content. It's referred to as "keeping the pot boiling" and sometimes stories can go on for weeks before they are dropped.

So, I will begin by posting a small news item. The next person will add to it in the form of a new revelation, an interview with a key figure or a new angle. We will do this until the story gets stale, or we discover the meaning of life.

UFO OR PARTY BLIMP?

Residents from the sleepy town of Rushdale were yesterday were woken from their slumber from what locals say was an unidentified flying object.

They say that they were awoken at approximately 2:30AM by a low metallic sound. When concerned residents checked where the noise outside was coming from, they looked up and saw bright lights.

One man was was taken to St John's Hospital with extreme seizures after looking directly at source of the lights. St. John's medical team say that they have never seen anything quite as severe in their careers, and the severity of the case is unprecedented.

"We took him in at about 3AM yesterday" one doctor said, "He presented with seizures which have kind of been our specialty over the years, but we've never seen anything of this scale

"It was just frightening, I thought we were going to lose him but then he stabilized and started singing Rodger and Hammerstein tunes"

The man in question is in a coma after his dice with death, and hospital staff will continue to observe the patient as concerned residents look to the authorities for answers.

The Chief of Police, Mitch Stockdale is due to give a press conference later on today, but air traffic authorities were silent on the issue this morning and show no signs of wanting to speak to the media.

Shock Release from Ministry of Defence

A document leaked from the Ministry of Defence this morning, after Chief of Staff Andrew Sinclair accidently gave it to a 16-year old work experience boy rather than to his secretary, has shed new light on the happenings at Rushdale.

Apparently the airforce had been testing a new spy plane in the area. The plane has 1.6 mm thicker armour than previous models, a more intuitive flight control panel and a new brand of autocannon that fires shurikens and electricity. This may explain the bright flashes in the sky around Rushdale.

Ufologists have challenged this new revelation:

"The government are just launching their usual cover up story" said Greg Beer (34), who runs a UFO spotting site from his parents attic, "They don't want us to realize the wonderful truth that aliens exist and have much to teach us about spaceflight and the universe and love".

Recent Developments of the USAF in Restricted Area near Phoenix

In the last six weeks, The United States government has been releasing an unprecedented amount of new, highly developed aircraft. Critics of the US budget have long been curious of large absent figures, and now the fruits of secret funding are now being shown, most believe.
Director of Lockheed Martin's SkunkWorks secret development manufacturer denies any association with new airborne visual weapons technology, and allegations of testing on American civilians, which may have possibly been the case on the mysterious "attack" last week on the Rushdale suburb.

Next week the newest additions to the USAF fleet will be presented at an Airshow at Nellis AirForce Base near Las Vegas, starting at 10am.

Stockdale Denies Government Tests

Rushdale Chief of Police, Mitch Stockdale has poured water on suggestions that the US government had any role to play in the appearance of an unidentified flying object in the skies of Rushdale.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that while the Rushdale Police Department acknowledges the presence of the object it is too early to say what exactly the object was.

"What we do know at this stage is that at 2:30AM this morning there was a disturbance. We know that this disturbance was caused by an object in the sky" he said.

"What is counter-productive right now is to speculate about that this object was. What we need to do is make sure that our residents are all okay so we can get back to work on what we do best in growing corn.

"There has been the suggestion by some quarters of the media that this object was deployed by the US Government. The fact of the matter is that we don't know what it was, and this speculation is just that. This morning I was in crisis talks with Rushdale's Mayor, Tom Greenberg, and he has given me assurances that there is no sinister plan involving governmental spy planes, this is just a media beat-up"

There has been no word from the mayoral office as yet, and efforts to contact the office have been met with silence.
