So...secrets. How good are you at keeping them? Do you prefer to keep secrets, play the mysterious type, or do you prefer to be an open book? Is life currently meeting that preference?

I would like to be an open book, but I can't really. I have tons of secrets, some minorly embarassing, others that I keep because, well, I downright have to. It sucks, really. Keeping a secret for such a long time eats at you. But it can't be helped, so you just have to go on, get used to it. At least, in that way it's simple. There's no decision to be made here, no moral question. Only keeping it secret, something I'm usually pretty good at.

I'm incredibly good at it, secrets of others and my own. The reason is quite simple: power. Secrets = power. By hiding things from people you ensure their knowledge of you can't be used against you but also, by keeping secrets of others you'll have that "secret weapon" just in case those others might turn against you. (You never know)

I do try to be as open as I can, but there are some things that I would like to keep to myself and some topics are off limits to people. I've been accused of being mysterious since I don't talk about myself, but I do point out that unless I'm asked I don't say anything.

I keep secrets very well, and good luck trying to get them out of me. :D

I'm very good at keeping secrets, they become very valuable in potential blackmailing opportunities :p

Seriously though if someone tells me something in confidence then I would never repeat it to anyone else.

I'm very good at keeping secrets. I'm not a fan of gossip or needless drama so I never have any reason to divulge mine or anyone else's.

I'm really good at keeping secrets.

Also, this is starting to become psychedelic. Too bad you can't colour spoiler windows.

I'm a very good secret keeper; both my own secrets and other people's secrets. Probably not out of the goodness of my heart, but more likely because gossip isn't something that interests me, and I would rather say nothing than ***** about other people. I have several big secrets, and if I was to unload them onto someone, I sure as hell wouldn't want them repeating it to others, so why would I?

I've always been good at keeping secrets and then one of the only times I let one out, I completely destroyed one of my friendships. Even after this person was a total ***** over the entire thing, I didn't tell anyone else about her secret, and there was numerous people asking me what the secret was after I explained the situation. Maybe that doesn't mean anything after the secret was already told to one person, but I'd like to think it makes me a good person anyway. It certainly made me even more careful about my secret-keeping.

I know things about people that would bring the world crashing down around them. I'd never repeat a friend's secret though, and there are far fewer things about myself that people know of than things they don't. I might be more open if I wasn't surrounded by ignorance and intolerance.

I keep secrets well, whether they're mine or someone else's.

I have a few secrets I keep to myself. But I am ridiculously good at keeping secrets for the simple reason I quickly forget about them anyways. But I have been described as "you intrigue me because I can't read you" so umm I don't know what to read into that

I'm great at keeping secrets! Why, just the other day Andy Shandy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Andy+Shandy] told me in confidence that he actually liked Sonic '06! Can you even imagine! Of course I promised that I would never let it get out, and what happened in Brovenger chat would stay in Brovenger chat.

OT: I'm usually pretty quiet about personal stuff, but I'm not all that reserved if people actually ask questions.

After releasing that embarrassing secret to the world, this is one chilli dog you won't be able to catch.

[sub] I have no idea what that is even supposed to mean [/sub]

Unfortunately, I am damn good at keeping them. Due to my unique background I've had to lie and maintain certain subterfuges for 17 years or so. Most little kids got it easy: they lied about things like where the cookies in the cookie jar went. I didn't: the secrets I kept were done so due to their life & death implications: it'll make a four-year-old grow up pretty damn fast, I'll tell you that much. Of course, the scars they leave will stick with you for a long time. Just recently I've finally begun to heal from them. So kids, if you're gonna lie about certain things, make sure it'll do more good than harm before you do, and if the opposite comes true, be prepared to deal with the consequences.

I could give you an answer to this question, but then that would be telling...

You would really have to determine if secrets were a good or a bad thing. Is it good to not tell, or not...? Its all very confusing.

Depends on the secret, or rather the impact said secret would make if revealed to the people you plan on revealing it to. It might be a good idea to reveal your secret fear of heights to your flight instructor. It's not such a good idea to reveal your gay fantasies to the WBC.

As for my big secret, the issue is that I have no idea how someone would react. In some ways, that's worse than knowing for sure that they'd hunt you down and kill you. The temptation's there. You stare at an empty post entry on some site your actual friends are on, and you just think "Would it be that bad?" Then at some point, you have the agonizing moment when you have to convince yourself, "I don't know, but it isn't worth the risk."

Well this thread has more weird sonic gifs than I was expecting.

I'm good at keeping secrets, mostly because I just forget them after a day or two anyway.

I am good at keeping secrets because I have no one to pass it onto except my dog.
