Kevin Smith's "Red State"

Does The Escapist have any Kevin Smith fans?

If so, what do you think about his new movie "Red State"? The trailer definitely doesn't look like it's a Kevin Smith film and the fact it's a horror movie makes it not look like a Kevin Smith film.

I'm pretty excited for it and March is a great time for it to be released.

I like most of his work, but this doesn't look like anything he has made before. It looks like it is going to be a second-rate evil redneck movie, and one long joke at my expense since I live in Colorado. So it is pretty much guaranteed that I will never see it.

About a decade ago I would have told you that anything Smith was involved with I would down for in an instant, but over the years his style and my tastes have changed. I wish him well, but I have almost no interest in horror movies even if they might be directed by a man I once idolized.

Yeah, with my favorite between Dogma and Chasing Amy to my least favorite, Jersey girl, He is pretty good writer/director.

I listen to all of his podcasts on his network and when he said that John Goodman was in it, I nearly died of excitement.

I'm excited for it. Cop Out was terrible, but this seems to be more his thing (small/Indy). The teaser looks good and the look is new for him. At the least it should be interesting.
