Right so I've finally gotten around to fixing up my old beast up after 24 months out of action. (I've been playing alot of Xbox).

It was alot of fun, some components were dead which was sad but I moved on. Actually it was pretty aweosme when my brother ended up having to frankenstein me a graphics card by screwing on a random cooling unit to his old card, but it didn't fit so we de-attached and re-soldered some resistors from the front on to the back. It looks crazy.

Anyway, so I ended up trying to play Dawn of War 2 which went down... horribly. I may have neglected to mention this PC was top of the line circa 2004-2005.

So I've been going about collecting myself an i5 processor and such, I'm off to get a new mouse (my mouse and keyboard both disappeared somewhere) tomorrow and the RAM so that I can put together the new incarnation but I'm still stuck on what keyboard to get.

At the moment I've got a HP standard keyboard which works but isn't awesome and ghosts W if S and D are pushed down when you first press W.
Minor problem I know, but anyway my question is, what keyboard should I get?

I've been looking at the Logitech G series and I liked the G19 until I found out it needed a seperate power input from the USB cable for the screen?! But by no means am I ruling out other brands.

Cash isn't really a problem, I can be patient enough to save but I don't want a $500.00 keyboard unless it's insanely good with like a Nerf Missile Launcher inbuilt or something.

EDIT: Also two one stipulations, no mechanical keyboards, I type at night alot and live in a small unit, this goes down badly with the missus.

It can't be flat to the desk all the time. Either a sloped board or with legs or something, I find my brother's G15 comfortable, so a little slope buit in is fine but yeah I don't like fully flat boards.

So what's good? What's bad? What do you use? Also reasons for any opinions would be good.

Thanks in advance for any advice, opinions, or words of warning!

I use a Saitek Cyborg, which works really well. It has multi-colored backlighting that can be adjusted differently for different areas of the keyboard (for instance, I have WASD red and the rest of the keys green, and the numpad and arrow keys red as well.), 12 macro keys, legs in the front and the back, and metal-coated WASD, spacebar, and arrow keys. It's also not too expensive. My friend has a Logitech G15 from before they changed it to have the non-folding screen and amber backlight, and that's pretty good too.

First of all, they're the only high-end ones worth getting, and secondly, you can get mechanical keyboards with switches that aren't necessarily clicky - the linear Cherry MX Blacks and Reds come to mind. Mechanical keyboards also have the best support for anti-ghosting/n-key rollover.

If you get any membrane keyboard that's more expensive than about $20, you've pretty much been cheated. While both companies make great mice and other peripherals, the Razer Lycosa and Tarantula are shit, as are the Logitech G-series of keyboards. They'll wear out in a few years, meaning you'll have spent something like $15 or more per year with the keyboard. The key legends will wear out quicker - neither Logitech nor Razer uses dye sublimation or laser etching on their keys.

Oh. Really?

Well I seem to have been misinformed.

I was underthe impression that mechanical keyboards were all clicky.

This changes things...

EDIT:
That link is pretty interesting but I don't think I'll be able to read it all tonight as I'm pretty tired.

Semi-related, anyone know of a good place to get mechanical keyboards other than the razor Balckwidow in Australia?
